THE COLOR “RED” IN CHINA

Of all the colors, “red” attracts the most attention. The people considered the red color auspicious and a color that expresses honor.

Time has passed, but the thought of respect for the color red has not changed. No matter where and when (in China), people use red color to express happiness. People see the red color as a symbol of happiness, success, loyalty and justice (see also: the mask in Peking Opera).

And especially in China, it is believed that the red color has the effect of keeping bad and evil away from the human body:

Red lamps are hung on New Year's Day, the firecrackers have a red cover, the banners on the door are red.

In addition, many are accustomed to wearing red in years when the number "9" occurs, to avoid the evil. Therefore, it can be said that the red color is China's lucky color, bringing people stability, happiness and prosperity

thank you for all your visits

First, my apologies for the somewhat poor composition. I took this shot literally the first week I touched a camera. Regardless of my inability to capture the moment well though, I couldn't help but make an attempt.....not only was the Cathedral breathtakingly beautiful, but note at lower right the young person unable to walk (who later I found out was paralyzed in an auto accident) being carried to the front of the church for prayer.

This is at Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe, NM.

Compassionate humans are everywhere if we are willing to open our eyes and see the kindness of those around us. Compassion is human nature.

So why dont we as humans show more compassion and kindness towards our planet, to Mother Nature, the environment and nature surrounding us. It makes me wonder. Why are we destroying the beauty of nature?

Why dont we acknowledging the need of animals, and nature in general, and the importance of their survival, as well as showing interest in their well-being, after all we need nature to be able to live here on earth.

I want to yet again praise and thank Una and Bo for putting the environment on the agenda, by making this sim.

I hope many will visit, but I also hope and wish people will take the time to sit down and reflect about what they see on the sim, this could very well be a real life scenario if we dont stop and think. By doing so hopefully we can make some changes in the way we treat our planet and the environment, we can all do something, even if little. It is a fact that global warming and climate change is effecting all of us. Some of the things we all can notice are: pollution, global warming, overpopulation, waste disposal, ocean acidification, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, ozone layer depletion, and the list goes on....

I was so excited when I found out that an old friend, Anya Ohmai, returned to our shared creative universe. She was always kind and helpful, and she always inspired with her beautiful images, as well as her creative builds and mesh collections. So, needless to say, I was doubly excited when I found out that she, joined by her partner, Mr. Ohmai, also returned to building amazing creations for our world! I wanted to create an image that not only showcased some of their new mesh sets but also conveyed my admiration for a talented old friend. Thank you for creating magic that inspires, Mr. & Mrs. Ohmai!

I envisioned my universe with the help of their brilliant new creations:

James & Dew’s Sciopticon Projector!

James & Dew’s Chaise, Side Table, and Tapestries, which are all part of the Astrology Lounge Set!

James & Dew’s Fireplace, Flame, and Candlestick, which are all part of the Classically Neon Set!

James & Dew’s Squirrel Lamp, and Block Lamp, which are both part of the Sylvan Shades Set!

Visit the James & Dew Marketplace!

In addition, I was inspired to create my world with the help of the following exceptional pieces, which were imagined and brought to life by one of my closest friends, the incomparable iBi:

8f8’s mystical woods (framed artwork), private knowledge (books), and stuck in time (hourglass), which are all part of the forgotten secrets collection!

8f8’s Spring Trinkets Table!

8f8’s Storyteller's Burrow Old Rug!

Visit the 8f8 Mainstore!

Thanks to the three of you for helping to make our world a magical place that is filled with wonder!

And to ALL of you out there…

Let’s keep building a world founded on kindness and compassion!

Let’s keep inspiring one another with our creative visions!

Let’s keep shining our light so bright!

YOU are wonderful!

Not passion flowers, but a rose called compassion with a delicate colour and a beautiful scent growing on the back wall of our house.

Yet, a giraffe could be highly dangerous. Handle with respect.

The stimulus to change can come only from the “intellect,” the seat of the image of God in man, and man’s capacity for God, which can be drawn out from the passions of the soul into compassion, and which does not lose its responsiveness to God’s word. The intellect remains the sanctuary of free decision, which imparts to all human performance its worthiness or worthlessness.

we can be our own worst critics or we can meet ourselves with kindness. each of us possesses inner beauty and wisdom. we just need to get quiet and look inward, with curiosity and compassion.

Last year this climbing rose had grown on the wall up as far as the house guttering so it was severely cut back. The reward this summer is like a small waterfall of beautiful pink with a typical fragrance reminiscent of peaches.

First Fall morning of needing a jacket when headed out to exercise. Working on my miracle morning, exercise - check, silence - check, photo - check. Feeling like a champ today! Remembering today and honoring the memories of those who lost their lives 16 years ago.

she sat on a throne of cold stone, the city a blur of indifferent passersby at the edge of her vision. the world was noise, but her kingdom was quiet. a rustle of wings, a hundred hungry bodies, a sea of grey feathers parting before her. she extended a hand, and with a simple gesture, she offered sustenance. it was a silent contract, understood only by her and the birds. for a few minutes, she was not just a woman on a step, but the calm, certain center of a swirling, grateful universe.
