Can't say much about this pub other than it is on the northern edge of town, a couple of hundred metres down from the Marabout Castle. Never had the chance to cross its threshold.

Compass Song is an app-based public sound artwork inspired by Times Square’s rich history as the Crossroads of the World. Artists Mendi + Keith Obadike have stretched fragments of music, poetry, stories, and myths across the pedestrian plazas and surrounding blocks in all four cardinal directions, for visitors to discover whether they’re exploring the neighborhood or simply on their way to work. Compass Song was commissioned by and created in residence with Times Square Arts. Photo courtesy of Ian Douglas for Times Square Arts.

Home sick today and what a pleasant surprise! Compass one of the Traveling Blythes arrived. Definitely perked up my day. This girl has a wonderful wardrobe and the post cards are the best. I plan on looking through all of them tonight. But for now here is a lame collage of all the items she is traveling with. I decided to go with 'lame' 1. because I am sick and 2. No way can anyone top the fabulous photo Kirsten took so I won't even try.

Monday and back to school again. This is Form 1C doing geometry in mathematics. We are learning how to construct angles using a compass. There are not enough compasses and protractors in the class so the students have to borrow from other students before class, and even then they have to share between themselves, 3 to 5 students per compass. There is gone be a test on this subject soon, and I am worried about how many compasses we can collect for the test.
The test they had last week required a calculator and it was pretty chaotic when the students started sharing calculators during the test. I was told that they were used to that, and that they even did it on the national exams. I am pretty sure that they can’t finish a geometry test in time if they have to share the compasses, so I have to figure out a good solution before that.
