Tile mosaic in the path leading up to the Ca d'Zan, John Ringling's mansion in Sarasota, FL (my hometown).
These giant compasses were designed for use on the school blackboard. Writing and drawing on the blackboard used to be a key skill for teachers, particularly in primary schools.

Electronic Compass based on the HMC6352 breakout board from Sparkfun and an Arduino. The led within +/-45 degrees of North is the one that is lit, and it also outputs the value on the serial port, for debug.

Theres a legend that goes like this... if you drink from the seven flowing streams of water in the Covadonga fountain you will get married within a year time. Obviously we didnt allow Compass to drink of it, hubby didnt allow me to drink either *cough*

Turned a poster upside down on my table and put a sheet of glass over it. There are two florescent lamps to either side of the frame and a big mirror to the back of the table reflecting light.
