The diagrams show the folding of the Basic Compass Rose Module. This is just another variation of the Wind Rose Module. Do not use this module together with the Wind Rose Modules. I have not tried that but there is no harm trying. However, I cannot guarantee good results.

The assembly is similar to the "Snowflake Modules" posted earlier here - www.flickr.com/photos/61236172@N08/8487800798/in/set-7215... . Please refer to it if you are not familiar with the assembly. Leave a little gap between the edges of the cupboard fold [step 1] for easier assembling of the modules.

Compass Bus took over service 32 on 1st June 2015, following previous operator Arriva's decision its financial performance was not good enough - Compass won the resulting Surrey CC tender process.

Four new Enviro200s were acquired for the route.

The fourth arrival, YY15 NHM, is seen here, the skirt on its emergency exit door painted brown since I'd last seen it.

It's performing the route's double run through Brockham to Strood Green and back, while heading to Guildford.

One of the most common symbols of Freemasonry is the crossed compass and set-square. The compass and square are architect’s tools, and symbolize God as the architect of the universe, among other things.

As measuring instruments, the tools represent judgment and discernment.

The compass, which is used to draw circles, represents the realm of the spiritual- eternity. It is symbolic of the defining and limiting principle, and also of infinite boundaries.

The angle measures the square, the symbol of earth and the realm of the material. The square represents fairness, balance, firmness, etc., which is reflected in phrases such as “on the square” and “squared away.” Something that is squared is something that is stable, a foundation for building upon.

Together, the compass and square represent the convergence of matter and spirit, and the convergence of earthly and spiritual responsibilities. The two symbols together form a hexagram, the union of earth with the heavens, matter and mind, etc.

General note: In this film, Wayne Ferris talks to Senator George Smathers about his trip to Latin America. Most of the program deals with the communist threat to the Latin American region. The show is comprised primarily of footage shot during Smathers' trip to various locations in the Caribbean and South America. Scenes include: riots in Panama over control of the Canal Zone, and footage of Fidel Castro shaking his fist and meeting with Russian leader, Anastas Mikoyan. Later, there is footage of an interview by Miami reporter, Dick Lobo, with Generalissimo, Raphael Trujillo, of the Dominican Republic. The segment on Venezuela includes 1958 footage of Vice President Richard Nixon's motorcade being stoned by angry protesters. There are a few brief scenes of Smathers meeting with Venezuelan President Bettencourt. There are brief shots of Haiti and Puerto Rico, including Smathers' meeting with the Haitian President. Senator Smathers comments that student exchange programs may improve relations with Latin America. Mr. Ferris closes the program with recommendations, such as: price stabilization measures; mineral quotas; market subsidies; and improved foreign aid. Produced by WCKT of Miami.

This shot is of a souvenir compass I picked up at a dock side gift shop in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Or it might have been from Peggy's Cove... I don't remember, but it works.

A little bittersweet bidding her farewell ... it always makes me a little sad to say goodbye! But I know she'll have a great time and I hope that everyone who gets to host and meet her has an amazing time, too! ♥

She left yesterday on her adventure - over a year long! First stop is with luckybells in Ohio!

A sunny Autumn day, 13th November, 2024, and I decided to track down Compass Travel's solitary Scania OmniLink which was operating the once weekly 106 service from Henfield to Worthing. YT13 HKZ was new to Johnsons, Henley-in-Arden, and is seen at Upper Beeding.

This was given to me by a relative about sixty years ago, and it already had some age on it then. There are no markings other than "Swiss Made".

Today was my first real outing with the 5DmkII and 17-40L. Loving the full frame so far, but still have to get used to the difference it makes in depth of field.
