what do they call that heat treatment that can cause an ink to change color as it grows warmer? Nine Inch Nails used it on their "Year Zero" disk, and I'd want to use the same technique on my game disk. You insert a white disk that contains a single fly on a plain white field. As you play the game, and the disk heats up, the disk goes from white to black and the text magically appears, the fly image inverts.

Again, maybe too clever, but dammit, I'm having fun coming up with these ideas.

Lovely silver tone vintage powder and rouge compact with a bar link chain dating from the 1920's. The compact has an etched and painted Art Deco design with the initials "SCL" engraved. The hinged lid opens to show a loose powder section with a rotating lid, a rouge section and a miniature lipstick tube. There may have been a mirror but it has since been lost to time.

This dainty compact would be a thoughtful gift for someone who collects compacts or enjoys Art Deco design.

My compact mirror Andrew brought back from Europe after his back packing treck. He knew I love owls and this is very special to me.

VOLT Fesztivál 2012

Another awsome Sport Compact event at WSID.Loads of cars made the trek from all over Aus to compete.Almost capacity entries on the track & a great selection of hot cars on show.

The presentation standard of Sport Compact drag cars has really amazed me so far this year, with a lot of the top runner track cars looking like prestine show cars with candy pearl paint jobs, tastefull air brushing and graffix and tuff drag spec rims all round. these guys have definatly stepped it up a notch!

Took a whole lot of photo's throughout the day, but unfortunatly forgot my memory backup so was limited to 4G worth of space...Ahhhrr.

Anyway, enjoy and please let me know what you think.

used the rubber mat and 4Lb hammer to compact the stones. Worked well.

First attempt at water drops on a CD/DVD. Used my extension tubes for some and just dedicated macro for others. The colors you get from a CD and DVD are totally different so try both. Lots of fun on a rainy day.

These four dwarf galaxies waited billions of years to come together, setting off a fireworks show as thousands of new star clusters come to life. The distorted galaxies are quickly producing massive, hot, young stars that are pumping out ultraviolet radiation, heating up surrounding gas clouds, and causing them to glow. Such encounters between dwarf galaxies are normally seen billions of light-years away and therefore occurred billions of years ago. But these galaxies, members of Hickson Compact Group 31, are relatively nearby, only 166 million light-years away. In this image, taken by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, the bright, distorted object at middle, left, is actually two colliding dwarf galaxies. Myriad star clusters have formed in the streamers of debris pulled from the galaxies and at the site of their head-on collision. The cigar-shaped object above the galaxy duo is another member of the group. A bridge of star clusters connects the trio. A long rope of bright star clusters points to the fourth member of the group, at lower right. The bright object in the center is a foreground star. Astronomers used Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys to resolve the youngest and brightest of star clusters, which allowed them to calculate the clusters' ages, map the star-formation history, and determine that the galaxies are starting the final stages of galaxy assembly. Hubble reveals that the brightest clusters, hefty groups each holding at least 100,000 stars, are less than 10 million years old. Astronomers say the interacting galaxies will form a large elliptical galaxy in another billion years. The Advanced Camera for Surveys data were taken on 8 August 2006. The principal investigator was Jane Charlton of Pennsylvania State University, University Park (USA).
