'Beauty in the City' series
Hi guys!
Just went out shooting yesterday (thanks to some inspiration from a friend here) and decided to give this one a shot : )
Went with B&W because I thought it really fit the mood of this 'edge of the world' photo.
I have been venturing out and photographing more lately... and I'm always looking for those beautiful landscape scenes that are difficult to find around the city.
Finally decided to just make the best of it and try to capture something nearby... hoping I might find something a little special within the city.
So when I saw this lake frozen over, and the crevice which seemed to split & run across the entire width of the waterway, I just had to get down low and grab a photo of it!
This particular shot showcases an area where the frozen water is slightly beginning to thaw from the evening sun... and you can see that from the little pockets of ice & water, which are still froze, but also in a bent state of cascading over & into the small gorge : )
There were also a lot of swirling clouds in the sky, which threatened the sunset view... but in the end, they seemed to add to the moody atmosphere quite well : )
I had so much fun being out there shooting yesterday!
This is no masterpiece, but I always have fun sharing something with you guys : )
And thanks again to [https://www.flickr.com/photos/111778568@N06] for inspiring me to post something : )
As always, I hope you guys find something interesting
or enjoyable here...
I appreciate your support so very much : )
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead!

The sticker, the custom flat bumper, the paint matching the licence plate....I couldn't ignore this little scene.
Horse-drawn carriages were the original ride share and the chief way folks traversed the city’s unpaved streets and byways. Mule-drawn carriages still line up on the Decatur side of Jackson Square, offering leisurely city tours, filled with colorful commentary. Carriages can also be hired for groups and special events, a mode of transportation that always makes a memorable impression. Here is a list of horse and carriage tours in New Orleans.
