This portrait was painted in the early 1800's adn is a compact complete with a carved ivory handle on the powder puff it is only 2.5 inches wide,, really kind of amazing.

A compactor for excavator is a machine or mechanism used to reduce the size of material such as waste material or bio mass through compaction. A trash compactor is often used by a home or business to reduce the volume of trash it produces. A baler-wrapper compactor is often used for making compact and wrapped bales in order to improve logistics. Normally powered by hydraulics, compactors take many shapes and sizes. In landfill sites for example, a large tractor (typically a converted front end loader with some variant of a bulldozer blade attached) with spiked steel wheels called a landfill compactor for excavator is used to drive over waste deposited by waste collection vehicles (WCVs).

Maybe 1 km from the city hall and train station this long, narrow outline of metal towers stands derelict. Back in the 1970s and 1980s, perhaps, it was one of many convenient locations for aspiring golfers. Some held the ambition to drive buckets of practice balls or be seen doing so. Others expected one day to pay the membership dues or the green fee to play a round of golf. But like so many sporting and hobby activities, there is a honeymoon period when it first spreads from the few to the many, and later there is the long tail of falling interest with some people dropping it readily, others persisting for years, and a few going all life long. As of 2017 these compact, small capacity neighborhood driving ranges with double-decker positions to swing and heavy green netting to trap the hail of golf balls are very few. Instead there are bigger facilities more widely distributed, requiring patrons to use a car to get to and from the site. The number of golfing facilities may have peaked in the 1990s, after which the Great Recession set in following the 1993 real estate and stock market fall and drop in exchange rate value of the Yen. The hobby continues to attract young people. Both men and women play, including retirees; at least in Fukui-ken.
