The William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, one of twelve official libraries at UCLA, is one of the most comprehensive rare books and manuscripts libraries in the United States, with particular strengths in English literature and history (1641-1800), Oscar Wilde, and fine printing.
The library and its collections were built by William Andrews Clark, Jr., in memoriam of his father, U.S. Senator William Andrews Clark, Sr. who amassed a mining fortune in Montana, Arizona, and Nevada. Clark Jr., a prominent collector and philanthropist, originally had a mansion at the corner of Adams Boulevard and Cimarron, but the structure was demolished. The current library, designed by architect Robert D. Farquhar, was constructed from 1924 to 1926 on the same site. After its completion, Clark donated the collection (then around 13,000 books), the buildings, and the square-block property to the Southern Branch of the University of California. It was UCLA's first major bequest, and still one of the most generous in the university's history.

Clark Jr. is also the resident of the impressive island tomb at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

This torch has a diffuse wide beam without hotspots, good for cycling, or as a portable accessory light for photography. At full power it's running a 7W LED at approx 4W, which in the central beam is enough light to fill in shadows in sunlight.

Third generation of Kia's successful compact car which ditches the apostrophe on its name for good. Initially offered as a five door and an estate (SW), the range has been increased by a very interesting prospect. A new Proceed shooting brake replaces the three door version that previously used that name. The new Proceed looks like a smaller version of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo - and all the better for it. I found all three members of the Ceed family to be very attractive and solidly built cars.

The residential complexes of Mei Foo were considered grand in the old days; every apartment unit offers a balcony, at least two rooms and one bathroom. The apartment sizes vary from 600 to 1,800 square feet (56 to 167 square metres). Every apartment complex has a 24 hour unified, unarmed security force. Entry to a residential block requires an entrance code, which changes periodically.
