PSEG Long Island today announced half a million dollars in additional funding for its most popular economic development grants for businesses. The announcement coincided with National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day (March 29).
The $500,000 will be distributed to eligible businesses through PSEG Long Island’s Main Street Revitalization Grants, as well as through Outdoor Commerce and Beautification Grants to local chambers of commerce and business improvement districts for bolstering outdoor shopping and dining.
PSEG Long Island joins nearly a thousand organizations, companies, and individuals across the nation in recognition of National Energy Efficiency Day (EE Day) by announcing it has helped customers save more than 2.1 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity since Jan. 1, 2014.
An event was held on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 (EE Day) to share information on rebates and incentives available for PSEG Long Island customers who go greener.
Helen Keller National Center (HKNC) participated in the PSEG Long Island Commercial Efficiency Program, receiving more than $85,000 in rebates for upgrading to efficient indoor and outdoor lighting. This has saved the organization an estimated 460,000 kWh in electricity and more than $73,500 per year. In addition, HKNC received a $38,995 rebate for installing a high efficiency “magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller,” used to provide comfort cooling to the facilities throughout the campus.

More than 50 legislative staffers visited the 169th Fighter Wing to explore the complex mission and training requirements that our Airmen support at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, South Carolina Air National Guard, Dec. 13, 2023. Guests experienced F-16 fighter jets takeoff up close and learned about the various weapons it can deploy, discovered the skill it takes to work air traffic control, and learned about base safety and security from the fire department and security forces. KOLKATA, INDIA – MARCH 22, 2025: In a heartwarming gesture, a newlywed doctor couple celebrated their two-week wedding milestone by organizing a special lunch for nearly seventy children of migratory Adivasi laborers at Mohan Brickfield near Kolkata, India, on March 22, 2025. The event was attended by relatives, family friends, and the children’s guardians. These laborers, primarily from tribal communities, work at the brickfield for about eight months a year, excluding the monsoon season. The children, aged between two and fifteen, are beneficiaries of a Non-Formal Education system that offers free learning opportunities to those without access to formal schooling. The couple’s celebration brought joy, solidarity, and attention to the importance of education and compassion in community life.

Carey Collins Deisley, Pediatric Dentist at U.S. Naval Hospital Rota, attended the Back-to-School Fair, meeting families and encouraging students as they prepare for the year ahead, highlighting the importance of good dental hygiene in student health. Events like this remind us how community support shapes future leaders and gives our staff the opportunity to share valuable health readiness tips with families.
