Rogers (a volunteer health worker) has helped Patricia to come to terms with her HIV status. Patricia says that stigma can be a problem in the community because people don’t understand HIV. Rogers encouraged Patricia to disclose her status to somebody close to her. She decided to tell Lamek that she is living with HIV. ‘My son used to ask if I had taken my drugs. He would say “Mummy, have you taken your drugs?”'
