DuPage Special Recreation Association athletes feel the burn during a recent workout at the Physical Education Center at the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd. Chaparral team members are volunteering their time, helping WSDRA athletes with their lifting and conditioning in preparation for the Special Olympics. The College of DuPage gridders will honor all the WSDRA Special Olympians during halftime at their Monday, Oct. 26, home gain against Olivet Nazarene.

The Carl Sandburg Charger 11-15 volleyball team defeated Highland College tonight in a Arrowhead conference match in 4 sets 20-25,25-23,25-15,25-15. The Chargers came out slow in set 1 but continued to make adjustments to their game to get better each set.
The Carl Sandburg College softball team picked up its first Arrowhead Conference victory of the season in a doubleheader split with Illinois Valley yesterday at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex. 17th District Congressional Representative Cheri Bustos visits Carl Sandburg College on Thursday, April 4. Bustos met with Sandburg President Dr. Lori Sundberg and toured the Main Campus with stops in academic areas pertaining to the medical field including nursing, medical imaging and mortuary science.
Area K-6th graders participate in Kids on Campus from August 4-8 at the Main Campus in Galesburg. A wide variety of sessions were offered in areas including, but not limited to: crafts and hobbies, physical education, the outdoors math, reading and writing.
On August 17, 2017, the JPL Education Office hosted a poster session for California Community College Space Grant students majoring in STEM subjects. College of DuPage has announced approximately 100 incoming students as Scholars Award recipients for fall 2023.
The awards fall into three categories: Presidential, a 64-semester hour full-tuition scholarship; Board of Trustees, which is $2,500 per year; and Deans, which is $1,000 per year. A recent event celebrated the achievements of the scholars and their decisions to attend COD.
“The College’s merit-based scholarship program for high school students provides significant financial assistance to high-achieving students beginning their college careers,” said COD President Dr. Brian Caputo. “It is a pleasure to welcome this latest class of scholars and their families to campus and I look forward to seeing them at COD this fall."
