Thrive Collective returned to BSSWA for a second consecutive year, and brought street art legend Sonic BAD to help us develop a Street Art 101 curriculum. The results are breathtaking, as approximately 180 students collaborated with Sonic to bring their vision to life.

On Nov. 12, 2019, nearly two dozen PSEG Long Island employees pitched in to tear a Bellport home down to its frame so it can be rebuilt through the Suffolk County Habitat for Humanity Veterans Build. Once it is reconstructed, it will become the home of a local veteran. The Habitat for Humanity work was one of seven community service events PSEG Long Island employees undertook as part of Veterans Week.

Went back a few steps and extended the core by eight studs.

I have added some color and continued with the hull by building a black stern and two gray turrets. Several stern pieces are placeholders, since I do not have the right part in black or dark bluish gray.

I have covered most of the anti studs with snoted bricks, plates and tiles, as shown by the detail view.

Has also left some voids and will fill the gaps later on.

A discretionary grant from NYC Council Member Fernando Cabrera allowed us to return to IS 117 for a second School Murals project, this time with a twist. We would leverage the project as a mechanism to invite collaboration between both schools that share the building: IS 117 Joseph Wade Academy and The Young Women’s Leadership School.

Students from both schools worked together to imagine a shared vision for their Mount Hope neighborhood, and brought that vision to life at the main entrance of the building. The last thing students see as they return home each day is the world they are building together.

Got some more pieces from Lego/Bricklink, and made some small adjustments. Removed the gun turrets and completed the stern.

Reprocessed and replaced, May 2024.

Started on a new ship while I was waiting for new pieces. It is a scaled down version of ship B. Not exactly the same proportions or angles since I use another type of slope. Each ship will have a different bow.

Length: 51 studs.

Width: 18,8 studs.
