"Bell Communication Around the World" on the side of the ATT building at 420 S Grand in Los Angeles is by Anthony Heinsbergen, 1961. The mural is 17' high by 36' wide.
It is a representation all the available means of worldwide communication (at that time) including cable, radio, telephone and satellite and is made of coils, coin boxes, chutes, relays, capacitors and other objects used in communications. The figure holds underwater cables in one hand and a satellite transmitter in the other and the numbers are meant to designate the importance of numbers in communication systems. The map of the world was not meant to be realistic.

The conductor is counting down the distance to the highway intersection, what we think the code means: It's those two photographers again, I think they see me, hard to hide with a safety vest on. F735-17 backs to service Verallia North America.

I THINK that is the purpose of these towers. Against a very blue and breezy sky. Nice to remember, when it’s hot and hazy.
