The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce welcomed its new Chairman Ron Pierce as 2009 Chair John Sullivan passed the gavel at the 2010 Annual Dinner held at Pepin Distributing in January. The Catering Company catered the sit down dinner. Mark Procter, founding partner of Platinum Bank and longtime community advocate received the Key Citizen award while Sandy and Dottie MacKinnon were awarded the 2010 leadership award for their longtime committment ot the chamber and the development of A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay. Chamber Announces Businesses of the Year
December 31, 2010 — Winners of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce’s 2010 Business of the Year Awards were announced at the Chamber’s 2011 Annual Meeting Jan. 25. The Chamber presents Business of the Year Awards to outstanding members in the small, mid-size, large and non-profit organization categories. The Chamber also presented the Progress Energy Sustainable Business of the Year Award.
Vacuum Cleaner Hospital is the 2010 Business of the Year in the small business category.
Chapel Hill Magazine is the 2010 Business of the Year in the mid-size business category.
Top of the Hill is the 2010 Business of the Year in the large business category.
The Morgan Creek Foundation is the 2010 Non-Profit of the Year.
PTA Thrift Shop, Inc. is the Progress Energy Sustainable Business of the Year.
The Business of the Year Awards (one recipient each for small, mid-size, and large categories) is presented to the outstanding Chamber member businesses that have shown growth, innovation of product, exemplary customer service, response to adversity, and/or contribution to the community. The small category is open to organizations with ten or fewer employees; the mid-size category to organizations with 11-25 employees, and the large to organizations with 26 or more employees.
The Non-Profit of the Year Award is presented to the outstanding Chamber member charitable non-profit organization that has shown growth, innovation of product, exemplary customer service, response to adversity, and/or contribution to the community.

India's supply of water is rapidly dwindling primarily due to mismanagement of water resources, although over-pumping and pollution are also significant contributors. Washington, D.C. – December 18, 2012: The U.S.-Turkey Business Initiative hosted Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, president of The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and a delegation of Turkish private sector representatives at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. TOBB represents the largest non-profit business organization in Turkey, representing the country’s 1.4 million companies. The visit follows the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between TOBB and the U.S. Chamber, which launched a new initiative to promote expanded bilateral investment. The Downtown Webb City Historic District is an irregular shaped commercial area located in Webb City; Jasper County, Missouri and is locally significant under National Register Criterion A in the area of Commerce, and under National Register Criterion C in the area of Architecture. A survey of Webb City (1996) and a site and recommendations report (2009) identified the district as one of the most intact grouping of commercial buildings in the community. The district served as the primary commercial business district in the community from the mid-nineteenth century to the current date. The buildings retain most of their original design features, and comprise of a visually cohesive grouping of commercial buildings and one residential dwelling constructed from 1883 to 1965. The development ofthis district in the city represents a local commercial development trend, and depicts the vital interplay between the mining industry and commerce in Web City's development. The predominantly brick-clad, one- to threestory buildings tend to be two-part commercial block but design details and the few high-style buildings within the district were visibly influenced by the common styles of the mid-nineteenth to early-twentieth centuries. Stylistic influences within the Downtown Webb City Historic District include Italianate, Italianate Revival, Romanesque, Art Deco, Streamline Moderne and Queen Anne. In addition, buildings are notable for their cast iron storefront. The period of significance extends from 1883 through 1965, representing the period in which the district was developed.
