Sibley & Holmwood Candy Factory and Witkop & Holmes Headquarters are each individually significant latenineteenth century commercial buildings that are located adjacent to one another in downtown Buffalo. Though unrelated in their commercial histories, the buildings share a setting in a portion of the downtown where much of the historic building fabric was lost during the midcentury. In addition to being designed by notable regional architectural firms, each building represents the histories of significant local businesses, is rare survivors of their types and is substantially intact from their dates of construction.

Vision 2020 : Towards Sustainable Water Management.
India's supply of water is rapidly dwindling primarily due to mismanagement of water resources, although over-pumping and pollution are also significant contributors. Today, water resource management strategy is required to be integrated and innovative so that it is sustainable and efficient; this can be ensured through innovative tools of promotion, and incentives for the efficient water utilization, while simultaneously, dealing with inefficient water consumption through taxes, disincentives, and tariffs. A holistic management approach on how to use, from where to use, distribution network, collection network, its treatment and disposal has to be defined. The investments in urban water infrastructure need to be supported by governance, reforms in order to transform the urban sector and improve delivery of services and adequate improvement in provisions for maintenance of assets have to be made.
The 5th Edition of India International Water Summit aims to provide an unique and ideal forum to bring in policy level interaction/representation along with B2B opportunities. Imagine your commerce here! On our tour in December 2008, there was pretty much nothing out here. We did see a building under construction nearby that looked like it was going to be a gas station/convenience store.
I don't know what was going on, but there were booths/merchants along the sidewalk from Citty Hall to the Goodwill in the background. Something even more strange was the potted plants in the middle of the street. It made it more difficult for the buses to maneuver in and out of traffic.
