KUWAIT NAVAL BASE, Kuwait--Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) gathered together aboard the Army Logistical Support Vessel 05, Major General Charles P Gross, to congratulate newly promoted Chief Warrant Officer 4 Lawrence Claflin during a promotion ceremony held here Nov. 22. Claflin is the support operations sea mobility branch chief for the 143d ESC and has served in the Army watercraft field for over 25 years.

About the United States Army Garrison Japan:
The United States Army Garrison Japan and its 16 supported installation sites are located in the island of Honshu and Okinawa in Japan. The USAG Japan mission is to support the Headquarters, U.S. Army Japan / I Corps (fwd) to ensure mission readiness and the quality of life of the Army community in a sustainable, transforming joint and combined environment.
The USAG-J area of responsibility spans 1,500 miles from north to south of Japan. Camp Zama, home for both HQ USARJ and USAG-J is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Tokyo in the cities of Zama and Sagamihara in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The Camp Zama base cluster includes Sagamihara Housing Area and Sagami General Depot.
Akasaka Press Center is located in the center of Tokyo. The Akizuki/Kure area near Hiroshima is an ammunition depot. Yokohama North Dock is a port facility in the city of Yokohama, a major commerce port and a popular shopping area. USAG Torii Station is located 980 miles southwest of Camp Zama on the island of Okinawa.

The Command Module from Apollo 11 moon mission was on display at the Seattle Museum of flight in celebration of the 50 year anniversary. I took Miles and Dane to go see it. Hard to believe that this thing flew all the way to the moon, orbited and then flew all the way back to Earth and splashed down in the ocean.
HUMPHREYS GARRISON, S. Korea (Oct. 28, 2010) - Joining millions of people around the world, about 250 members of the U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys community, along with 100 students and adults from Pyeongtaek City, participated in Make a Difference Day by helping to clean up Deog Dong San City Park, in Pyeongtaek. The program was created by USA Weekend Magazine 20 years ago and has become an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of October. The RAF Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, London, commemorates the aircrews of RAF Bomber Command who embarked on missions during the Second World War. The memorial, located near Hyde Park Corner, was built to mark the sacrifice of 55,573 aircrew.
There was controversy over the tactics employed by RAF Bomber Command which meant that an official memorial to the aircrews had been delayed for many years
The Queen officially opened the memorial on 28 June 2012.
A trio of defensive and control structures on Sheerness to command the heavy weight of firepower at the disposal to defend the mouth of the Rivers Thames and Medway.
There is a 4.7in Quick Fire (QF) coastal battery in the converted Martello tower. The tower would also have had radar. Two circular Martello-like concrete towers, each for a 4.7in QF gun. Later additions to their roofs converting them to minefield control points. In between a rectangular Battery Observation Post (BOP) tower.

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- The U.S. Army Materiel Command Band performed a FREE Holiday Concert for the community "A New Home for the Holidays" on Sunday, December 11 at 3:30pm at The Thurber Arts Center, Randolph School.
