Drawn today while drinking too much tea, in the cold cold cold. Blogged

I snapped this lovely shot of my girlfriend Setareh Khatibi while we were vacationing in Santa Barbara. We were on the look out for some of their popular street art and came upon this wall that was fully gratified. Hard to tell what that was because of the shot but I ended up falling in love this shot and angle. Hope you enjoy!

Slimbridge Wetland centre.

I spied these plastic binder combs at the office and I was intrigued by the repeating pattern they created. The heliotrope color as added in post processing.

For the 2nd part of my Still Life assignment at City of Glasgow College I had to take the combs from the previous studio shot onto a location and shoot them there.

I decided to go the opposite route from the studio shot. While the combs in the studio shot were majestic, monuments, the comb here is a rather sad sight. Dumped in a scabby bathroom sink.

Shot handheld using the flipscreen to compose.

Honey comb from the bees I've been working with. It appears these bees have no queen because there are multiple eggs per cell.

Yesterday I met up with Tim, Mike & Diane at the Aquarium of the Pacific and I already want to go back! These comb jellies held my attention for quite awhile because their cilium diffracts light so as they propel themselves, rainbows of light race down their tiny little bodies.

there will be 3 mirror picture posted in a row. This is the first one.

I love taking pictures of other people when they look themselves in a mirror.

A comb for senior Maiko for summer.

Senior Maiko wear these combs with a big flower Kanzashi during the summer months when they go out to their ozashiki.

Junior Maiko use to wear them during the daytime too, but not in the evening.

I found this beautiful comb at Ikuokaya.

They are not cheap at all, but the combs for autumn and winter are even more expensive.

Ta da! These are slabs of honeycomb full of honey that I cut from the frame I robbed out of Sui's hive. The dark colour of the wax is due to its age, I think.

This Young Male is at Zoo Miami he has about another year before his Mane is fully grown in.

I shot this originally in 2012 on one of my first explores of this fantastic location. Unfortunately it was demolished in 2015. I never edited or posted many of the photos. What was so interesting is that many rooms had a red/orange hue to them from the rust and crumbling clay bricks.

Assignment: Do a series of [drawings] that show the movement of time.
