Der Versuch des Einfangens. Rosaroter SchΓ€fchen.

Or pink dreams? Or huge cotton balls? Or just a look through the pink glasses? Actually it is simply the view in the sky – again from my garden – and that is not an effort, but very easy ;-)

Kuschelwolken. Ein Versprechen?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This crow seems to be a little undecided. Perhaps also skeptical whether the clouds are really as soft as their sight promises. Perhaps also skeptical whether the pink promise will dissolve in the air when touched – as soap bubbles usually do?

The anti-terrorism bollards in London offer great image potential IMUO (In Me Umble Opinion). Evening outside Kings Cross Station 4th Feb 2020. The white blobs on the ground are spat-out gum. I've purposely emphasised them as part of the design. A design of gobbits. 16 hues in equal spacing. Own software with gradients by Adobe Illustrator.

It is said that fairies can give us three wishes that come true. So for today's ME / CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day, I wish that the cause of this disease is found and a remedy that makes life easier. I know that this does not really help and the subject is far too serious to joke with. I hope all those affected a smile sneaks in their face anyway – that may help a little bit.

I wish you all a nice weekend and a happy SoS!

Nikon Micro-Nikkor-P / 1:2.8 / 55 mm

In this version i changed the white balance. Thus, the sky received the color that he actually had a few minutes later, as you can see in the photo "Sunset in the windows". So you can see here how the picture would have looked like if the photographer and the pedestrian had been there a little later, or the sunset would have been a little earlier. :)

Is it a fake, cheating or the freedom of a photographer? What's your opinion?

There's something so romanticly haunting about fog. The feeling of desolation, it's ability to let the imagination spin freely and the muffling effect it can have on distracting sounds. Too bad I'm not more of a morning person.

This was shot just before I went to work. I didn't nail any composition that satisfied what I felt in my minds eye this time, but as I began playing with the colours afterwards it got a little closer. I used an old photo with only greys and rusty oranges to colour it. Here I used the same photo to add some subtle texture as well.

Found something to do to pass time. Starting at the beginning of an open source photo processing and adjustment software program and learning the capabilities. Hope to be able to apply some of the features to my photography.

Colour manipulation - flint pebble abstract on Salthouse beach

Lost at night in St Helens churchyard, Wheathampstead.

New sign trying to thin out the geese on the lakeshore.

Should work.

In the 1960s and into the '70s, photo magazines regularly published photographers' experiments in cross processing, solarization, reversal processing, posterization, silk screen manipulation and other techniques to obtain unusual colours in otherwise commonplace scenes. Lately I have been playing with digital techniques to mimic some of those results. Unlike the older chemical techniques which produced completely unpredictable results, digital manipulation provides the opportunity to work with the image and adjust the look to suit you. This is a shot of a Vietnamese oriented market located on Gerrard Street in Toronto. While colourful in its own right, I decided to play with this image and here is the result. - JW

Original image taken using a hand-held Nikon D5000 fitted with a Nikkor 18-105mm VR lense set to 66mm, ISO200, Aperture priority moe, 1/50 sec. PP in GIMP: duplicate the original image and select the top layer, adjust the tone curve to get a sharp steep transition about 1/3 of the way across the range (from the left side), pulling down the left part to darken and pulling up the right side to brighten, boost saturation significantly, boost contrast significantly and simultaneously increase brightness to prevent the darker areas from blocking up, repeat and/or adjust to taste, then using a large soft-edged eraser remove the faces sections of the top manipulated layer to reveal 'normal' faces from the original layer below (I did not like the colour effects on the faces in the top layer and preferred this), crop some off the top to remove some large white distracting areas, flatten, sharpen, add border and scale to 1024 wide for posting.

This old bomb shelter in my next door neighbour's garden was a place of refuge during bombing raids of Highbridge during World War Two....now it doubles up as a garden shed....I want one!

Wow...these trees speak ancient and mystery to me...such wonderful shapes and fine intricate lacework with the naked branches. The huge balls of Mistletoe in lots of the branches look fascinating too. The shapes speak for themselves so I have accentuated this with a bit of colour manipulation...hope you all like!

I love the levels for their wide open spaces and old gnarly weather beaten trees....and of course...bird song. We could hear Skylarks trilling up above and the "chink chinks" and churrings of the Tits in the tops of these trees.

Lovely....
