In May 2012, a three-day training program was organized to train Sri Lankan professional on Probabilistic Risk Assessment using CAPRA.

Originally built in the 1890's and opened to the public in 1893, the building was abandoned with the banning of horse racing in the late 1950's . Now converted into a vibrant mid range dining and shopping arcade
Last September, Rotaract Club of Colombo West initiated a month long Facebook awareness campaign called Heart Alert to create awareness about cardiovascular diseases. As phase 2 of the project they joined hands with Sri Lanka Heart Association to celebrate World Heart Day as the official volunteer partner. Heart Day celebration was held with a HEART WALK under the theme of "Power your life"
The event was graced by His Excellency Honorable President Maithreepala Sirisena who joined the Heart Walk showing support to World Heart Day celebration. The Walk was followed by a set of interactive sessions about healthy food habits and lifestyle, presentations and demonstrations of yoga, aerobics and music therapy sessions for maintaining a healthy heart.
