The Chapel was built in the eighteenth century. Three people were responsible for its diffent stages and lengthy construction.which took from 1720-91, Dr George Clarke, Henry Keane and James Wyatt. It took this long due to shortage of funds.Between 1864 and 1866 the chapel was re-decorated by Wiliam Burges in a highly unusual and decorative way being prodominantly pink , the pew ends are decorated with carved animals of all kinds including Rhino's and Elephants. The stained glasswere to have been designed by John Everett Milais, but the designs were rejected by Burges and later given Henry Holiday.Oscar Wilde said of the Chapel, 'As a piece of simple decorative and beautiful art it is perfect, and the windows very artistic.

Lancing College Chapel is the chapel to Lancing College in West Sussex, England, and is an example of Gothic Revival architecture. The chapel was designed by R.H. Carpenter and William Slater. The foundation stone of the college chapel was laid in 1868 and, although building work stopped in 1977, the chapel remains unfinished. The chapel was dedicated to St Mary and St Nicolas in 1911 but the college had worshipped in the finished crypt from 1875. The chapel is built of Sussex sandstone from Scaynes Hill. It is a Grade I listed building.
Lancing College Chapel is one of the tallest interior vaulted churches in the United Kingdom. The apex of the vaulting rises to 90 ft (27.4m) above the floor. The original plans called for a tower at the north side and the foundations for it were laid but not used; the tower would have raised the height to well over 300 ft (90m). The chapel design is based on 13th Century English Gothic, with French influences. It follows a standard English Gothic plan, with a triforium and a very high clerestory. The French influences are noticeable not just in the massive clerestory, but also in the apse and the massive rose window on the west end. It is the largets school chapel in the world. (wik)

Lancing College, Lancing, West Sussex
Situated on a hillside overlooking the River Adur, the chapel is an iconic landmark in the area.
The college itself was founded in 1848, and although the foundation stone for the chapel was laid in 1868, and the building mostly competed by 1911, the finishing touches were not completed until 2022!

An experiment.
I saw a shot taken here which was VERY wide, and I was testing how wide I could get with a single shot - 10mm on APS-C with back against the wall. Subsequently realised that the shot I saw was taken in ultra-wide mode on an iPhone. Which is possibly why the sky was blown.
So something to try next year - a multi-shot panorama (to get the width) in HDR mode (to control light and dark).
This is my dorm room.
If anyone wondered what it looked like.
Not nearly as awesome as my room back home.
But it's nice to fill the void.
It reminds me of home.
And I couldn't just leave empty walls could I ;)
It's three in the morning and I'm starving.
It's snowing.
And I want to go out and take pictures.

Been coming to Letchworth state park with my college friends for about 20 years now. We rented the beautiful stone house across from Inspiration point and had an awesome weekend. There's nothing better than good friends!
Emmanuel College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college was founded in 1584 by Sir Walter Mildmay, Chancellor of the Exchequer to Elizabeth I.
The site on which the college sits was once a priory for Dominican monks, and the College Hall is built on the foundations of the monastery's nave.
Or at least it used to be back in the 70s and before that it was a college for training school mistresses, now a dreary business centre. Ranked as one of Derby´s creepiest buildings, it wouldn’t be out of place in a remake of The Haunting, it´s also smack bang opposite the Victorian Cemetary…so that´s all lovely then.

This is the Lieber College building on the "horseshoe" at the University of South Carolina.
The horseshoe is the original USC campus. It is still quite beautiful, peaceful, shady, grassy and magnetic to anyone looking for a quiet place to study outdoors, or toss a frisbee.
When I was in grad school, the horseshoe was surrounded by gigantic, ancient, overly healthy azaleas. I found myself there of on Sunday looking for good photos.

The University College of the University of Toronto was established in 1853.
The Toronto Project:
Hi Flickr, I have been busy finishing my degree, and now I'm done!! I have finally completed my bachelor's in biology and chemistry. I just returned from a trip to Toronto. I have taken a fascination with the city in many ways and I had a list of things to do and experience there. In my three full days of staying there and shooting I experienced a lot and took 4927 photos, I walked dozons of kilometers, and visited many interesting areas. Some of the highlights include; the PATH system, Hockey Hall of Fame, Union Station, all of the major financial building complexes, CN Tower, Old City Hall, Osgoode Hall, Art Gallery of Ontario, Kensington Market, Chinatown, Sunnybrook Park, Cabbagetown, Necropolis, Euclid Hall, Gooderham Houses, Queen's Park Legislative Buildings, All of the old colleges of the University of Toronto, Royal Conservatory of Music, Annex style houses, Yorkville Houses and firehall, Casa Loma, Spadina Museum, the Royal Ontario Museum, Allen Gardens, Mackenzie House, St Michael's Church, Metropolitan United Church, Flatiron Building, St Lawrence Market, Toronto's first post office, St. Lawrence Hall, Sculpture Garden, St. James Church, Gooderham and Worts Distillary, Cherry Street Hotel, and Little Trinity Church and the surrounding neighborhood of Corktown.
This is just an image of a large series that I'm doing. The primary goal of this project is to document the diverse types of architecture that one can find in Toronto. Much of it has a British influence or American such as Richardsonian Romanesque when it comes to older buildings. But since Toronto is also a modern alpha global city and a global financial city it has a diverse and impressive amount of modern skyscrapers and post modern architecture. Its diversity is also shown in its people in that atleast 50% of the people living in Toronto weren't even born in Canada, making Toronto the world's most ethnically diverse city. It is extremely colourful and every corner has a new surprise. One can pass down the same street multiple times and stil find surprises like little shops you didn't even notice. I can't wait to return, but I need work in order to get down there again.

Trinity College Chapel was built during the reigns of Mary and Elizabeth I, and was intended to be the place where the Master, Fellows and Scholars of the College made their daily acts of worship, as an integral part of their life and study.
Today, its purpose remains the same. The Chapel is used by members of Trinity College and visitors as a place of prayer, and the community drawn together through Chapel worship and work is vibrant and diverse. The building is also used for formal ceremonies and events within College and serves as a fine venue for musical performance.
