Fruit stickers collected between the late 80s and the mid 90s.

It's much smaller now... I only have about 8 ponies left.

This image belongs to a series of motor vehicle photographs that do not contain owners or people with the vehicles. Therefore, they do not fall completely within the requirement of my 'Family Car' collection.

I thought however that somebody might like to see the rejects.

They have not been cleaned or restored to the extent of the primary collections, and they will not be placed in any Flickr groups.

If any images receive sufficient 'hits', I will consider cleaning them up for a more public release.

Reproduced from the original negative in my collection.

Kensitas flowers were woven from silk and given away with Kensitas cigarettes in 1933 & 1934. Never before or since their issue has a silk been given away contained in an outer protective card.

They were in two collections, about 100 in all I think.

I bought these few, from 1933, at a collectors' fair about twenty years ago. This size was given in packets of 20 cigarettes,

Postcard size given with packets of 50 - I've never seen these.

There are full details at www.kensitas-silkflowers.co.uk/

I've recently seen them used in a crazy quilt so I may use one or two - though it's nice to have them in their original little folders.

Happy day off :D

Woke up by a facetime call from family, has been a while since we called last time. Saw the news about London helicopter crash from a Chinese news, so awesome!

Had my first serious no marriage talk with parents and it did not go well.

HMV closed today, after Blockbuster, Clintons Cards and Jessorp. Had so much memories in Cambridge with all them the same way I have memories with individual DVDs of mine.

Can't believe my last purchase from HMV was Pocahontas when we were in Scotland.

Watched "My Name is Khan" with AKC in the evening, brilliant film, cried so much as usual.

Focusing on late medieval and early Renaissance Europe, it also contains important examples of Chinese and Islamic art, French Paintings and Ancient Civilisations. It includes work by major artists including Rodin, Degas and Cézanne. Through this donation, the City of Glasgow acquired one of the greatest collections ever created by one person. Sir William Burrell’s collection is a must-see for any visitor to Glasgow. The Burrell hosts major temporary exhibitions throughout the year. There are also regular family-friendly activities and hands-on workshops to enjoy during your visit. - See more at: www.museumsgalleriesscotland.org.uk/member/burrell-collec...

On Monday, November 12, at 6 p.m., Washington University Libraries' Department of Special Collections re-launched the Modern Literature Reading Series, which celebrates both the authors in the Modern Literature Collection and those poets and writers influenced by them today.

Similar to the first Modern Literature Reading Series, which ran from 2000 to 2005, the new series will hold one event each semester and feature readers from the student body, the faculty, and/or outside writers. Each reader focuses on one author and reads excerpts from that author’s work or manuscripts that speak to the reader in some way. The readers are also invited to present their own work inspired or influenced by the writer in question.

Renowned poet and WUSTL faculty member Carl Phillips headlined the fall 2012 event, held in Special Collections, on Level 1 of Olin Library. Phillips read and discussed the work of Robert Creeley. Two current WUSTL MFA poets, Catherine Chiodo and Philip Williams, also read, with Chiodo focusing on Donald Finkel and Williams on Robert Duncan.

Joel Minor, curator of manuscripts and modern literature for Special Collections, proposed reviving the Reading Series after talking with Writer-in-Residence Jennifer Kronovet, who mentioned participating in the original incarnation of the Reading Series when she was an MFA student here.

“Jennifer sparked the idea,” Minor says, “and then later graciously agreed to help me get it off the ground again. I am excited by this opportunity to partner with the MFA Writing Program on a regular basis and to help connect generations of poets and writers to audiences through manuscripts.”

Inaugurated in 1964, the Modern Literature Collection at Washington University Libraries was created as an archive of the work of contemporary English and American writers who were considered critically underappreciated and whose reputations might grow further in the years to come. Today, the Collection’s list has grown to more than 175 authors, presses, and journals, with more than 125 of these represented by manuscript materials.

A reception followed the reading. For more information, contact Special Collections at 314-935-5495 or visit library.wustl.edu/units/spec/.

Tate Britain: The Chapman Family Collection comprises thirty-four wooden carvings, displayed on plinths and dramatically illuminated by pools of light in a darkened room. The work was first exhibited in 2002 at White Cube gallery, London, where the press release for the show heralded it as an extraordinary collection of rare ethnographic and reliquary fetish objects from the former colonial regions of Camgib, Seirf and Ekoc, which the artists Jake and Dinos Chapman’s family had amassed over seventy years. The mode of presentation is typical of any Western ethnographic museum.

My friends daughter collected small colorful balls in a cut glass vase, and that is how I got the idea.

The kids and foster kids were always losing these small bouncy balls, and I still

occasionally find them while cleaning under furniture.

I helped my grandkids start a similar collection last Thanksgiving when I visited them in Oregon. Cassandra says the vase is overflowing!

The stolen LP collection is much larger, but these are the ones I photographed to remind myself what I wanted to use in an exhibit at Chapman University next year.

Sometime between 10:30 a.m. July 8 and 10:30 a.m. July 9, 2016, someone broke into my storage unit in Costa Mesa and stole much of the Tiki and Oceanic material I've been collecting over the years. This photo depicts some of the stolen goods.
