Vintage goods fill a shelf in my kitchen--the collection of swizzle sticks began in my childhood, when my Dad, who was a salesman for an oil company, would bring me home the swizzle sticks. Over the years, I've added to the collection.
The vintage United States puzzle was an Etsy find. The metal globe was made in Korea and is a bank. The cool lucite "lamp" clock was purchased at Paper Cowgirl 2011 in Waxahachie, Texas.
This motor vehicle is registered in Kansas for 1928. Does Kansas have cactus that big?

Inamorata Obiage Collection consists of 6 silk robes hand stitched from antique obiage kimono accessories. All the robes were reserved last week, but the two tanned OOAK dolls modelling the mauve and ombre robes are for sale. Email me if interested (emiliacouture@gmail.com).
*Obiage (帯揚げ, "obi bustle") is a scarf-like length of cloth worn above the obi. Though it functions as decoration, it may also function to cover the obimakura (pillow like padding) and keep the upper part of the obi knot in place. The obiage can be worn by women at any age, with it being custom to show more of the obiage the younger one is. It can be decorated in a variety of different ways, and is commonly dyed using the the kanoko shibori knot dye technique. Obiage date back to Edo period and were worn by geisha and maiko. In away obiage is considered an undergarment, and it's beauty is mostly hidden. The amount of this pop of colour shown indicates marital status of the wearer and showing more is seen as kind of risqué. Making a robe out of this feels sensuous and I love to show the craftsmanship of the texture in all its glory.

This image belongs to a series of motor vehicle photographs that do not contain owners or people with the vehicles. Therefore, they do not fall completely within the requirement of my 'Family Car' collection.
I thought however that somebody might like to see the rejects.
They have not been cleaned or restored to the extent of the primary collections, and they will not be placed in any Flickr groups.
If any images receive sufficient 'hits', I will consider cleaning them up for a more public release.

This is my Strawberry Shortcake Collection. I have a few more dolls that aren't pictured here. These dolls were sold in the early 80s and although I didn't own any as a kid, I do remember playing with them at my aunt's house.

My friend's collection of vintage mini arcade games... he buys broken ones and fixes them up.
I have my eye on the Pac-man one... I received that exact game Christmas of 1984 when I was 10! I played it as much as I could get a away with :D
Digitised image from the Town Hall Photographer's Collection - GB127.M850.
The Town Hall Photographer’s Collection is a large photographic collection held in Manchester City Council’s Central Library archives, ranging in date from 1956 to 2007.
The collection consists of tens of thousands of images, covering the varied areas of work of Manchester Corporation and latterly, Manchester City Council.
The photographs were taken by staff photographers, who were tasked to document the work of Corporation/Council departments and, in doing so, captured many aspects of Manchester life and history, including significant changes to the Manchester landscape.
The collection includes many different formats from glass negatives, to slides, prints, CDs and even a couple of cine films.
What is especially exciting is that the majority of these images have never before been available in a digital format and therefore have only ever been seen by a handful of people.
A team of dedicated Staff and Volunteers are currently working on the systematic digitisation of the negatives held within the collection.
This album represents the result of their work to date.

They don't say you can't take photographs in their store but I know they don't like it.
Apologies if I'm in trouble again but this kind or research is invaluable if you want to gauge what's 'out there' in terms of contemporary stuff.
If you really want to do research on product design properly John Lewis remains the one-stop-shop for everything new and desirable.
Pick up one of their catalogues, you might even find a good Christmas present for yourself, or you Dad!

I don't think I've ever seen so many Shirley Temple dolls. A friend collects dolls restores them with care and pride. When I visit her all the dolls eyes seem to be looking at me and that's spooky!
I've never really been a collector, apart from the usual dust, magazines and general trash!
My 365 project is my first picture collection set though!!
