This is about ¾ of my ribbons. There are 2 boxes of Christmas and metallic ribbons and cords not pictured. Two boxes of satin ribbons; one box of grosgrain ; and one box of fancy printed and woven ribbons with a few velvet ribbons. The majority of them were bought in the early 1980's for 50¢ to 70¢ a reel. Reels have 5 to 20 yards of ribbon on each. Jan. 2012.
Wouldn't you sleep better knowing that if you should wake in the middle of the night wanting to sew or make something requiring ribbon, you have lots to choose from? I do.

One wonderful social worker, Beth, has been helping my family for numerous years as my mother's problems increase as she nears 100. She has immensely helped my brother, daughter and me - the ones most affected by Mom's needs. No counselor in my life has been more compassionate, insightful, incisive, and liberating for me than Beth. I have never been able to write her more than short letters of appreciation and gratitude. As soon as I started putting special, long-held things in this typecase I knew it was my Thank You for Beth. I will keep the piece and send her a set of large photos.
There's a piece from a Prayer Flag in Tibet. Sand from a sand mandala. Buddhas from several countries I traveled. Some of my mother's perfume ... many treasures and a few mundane things - like some screws and money. I think it is complete now.
Posted today for Our Daily Challenge topic 'Multiples' - there are 78 compartments here.
Waiting on an order to get the olive green helmet. Can't find regular tan for the life of me. If anyone has an extra set (not dark tan), you'll be my best friend forever. So close to complete!
I liked the minifigure storage box so much that I bought a couple more, and now each SilentMode.tv family member has their own space.
Currently thinking about having some place name stickers/bricks.

Ratoncita, muy setentera entre la melenita y el vestido trapecio (me encantan esos vestidos, pero hay que tener buenas piernas!)
Recently added the Gorilla and Crab walker to the collection of "oficial" walkers. (Also got the prequel ones but they are parted out.). The Gorilla is a decent build, but screams for some modding. I think i'll wait till i've seen the movie, after that i can have some better images, and create a better one :) or UCS? who knows..
A few of the Arguses, (Argi?), in my collection. Argus A on the top shelf and others on the next. The cabinet is older than the cameras, with hand formed glass in the doors.
the collection as of december '07
not shown: the camera that took the picture - nikon d40
or the digital camera on the macbook or in the cell phone.
brings the tally to something around 56 cameras.
most cameras seen here were thrifted. the majority cost $1 or less.
in cases. and the ones i use are on a shelf.
i don't want to pay for film any more. i don't want to buy $7 batteries to use in cameras that cost $1 a shot.
i know i can get film for all of the cameras [except the polaroid roll film, that's the only one dead. the sx-70 pack can be modified, etc]
if i happen to find polaroid 600 film for a quarter a pack, then hell ya.
in the mean time, i'm goin digital and stockpiling film cameras for fun.
