I had a fabulous idea this morning.

You'll shoot one half of a disposable camera, and then send it to me to shoot the other half and get it developed. We will have the same theme which can be determined based upon our preferences!

Please let me know if you are interested :) Send a flickr mail!

This would be so much fun!

At the recently opened OUS/OHSU Collaborative Life Sciences Building the interior of the atrium looks like maze of ramps and mezzanines (e.g. see "empty nest" and "first impressions" by Devin Bryant) connecting the two buildings on each side of it together at a number of levels. On the underside of those are these wonderful neon lights designed by Pae White forming patterns of their own and interacting with the lines of the ceiling tiles, and skylights in innumerable ways creating a treasure trove of abstract comps waiting to be explored. Currently, the building is open 630AM to 10PM Mon-Fri, and 8-5 Sat. i4s9602

Here's some more photos of the real Moleskine Surprise boxes I've received on Monday. Last year when the Volant series was launched, collaborating with Moleskine Asia, we created beautifully designed envelopes for people to put colorful Volants in and send as Xmas gift. From our experience with huge Moleskine display during City Notebook's TOKYO/KYOTO release, we know people would love a gift box in the form of a Moleskine notebook for this Xmas. In addition, the retail price is almost like 30% off buying the contents individually. Its never done before.

What's unique about these boxes is that when sending them as gifts, you can almost certain they are on the top of your can't-go-wrong gift list, no matter what the content is. That's one big achievement as a brand. But don't get it wrong, these boxes aren't one of those dirty ways a retailer would do to clean up old stocks, they are thoughtfully designed into themes for customers to choose easily when they think of their recipient.

For a more elaborated present, you may find it hard to stuff these big boxes into a Xmas hamper, but that's the point isn't it, a hamper full of discovery… and surprises. I can tell you the Luxury, For Him and For Her sleeves are the most handsome, they can be easily adapted to your hamper's color theme.

To give you an idea how large these boxes are, I've put some pocket and large sized Moleskines beside the box. There's plenty of space still to add more stuffs to your present, and again the box is not only a nice packaging but can be doubled as a storage box approximately the size of an A4 paper (unfortunately because of the round corners, an A4 paper cannot be laid flat inside).

It will be great fun to assemble your own perfect stationery Xmas gift box based on these. Put in a few more interesting products like MT masking tapes, Amadana calculator, rubber stamps, etc and a personal note written with ink and paper, voilà! A thoughtful and useful gift. The Moleskine Surprise Boxes are going to arrive city'super and LOG-ON before this weekend. For a list of available countries in Asia, please contact Moleskine Asia.

I had an idea on the way home one night about terrain in Mobile Frame Zero games. There's a microscale building standard called Micropolis. People use this standard to assemble collaborative builds at Lego conventions. I figure our community could make something similar.

Desert Botanical Garden has collaborated with Rotraut Klein-Moquay to bring an installation of her artwork to The Garden. This sculpture is Untitled Pink, 2018 Painted Aluminum 100.5"hx50.75"lx17.5"w

Playing with Stars - Rotraut at Desert Botanical Garden

"the bold and lyrical large-scale sculptures of Rotraut enliven the Garden trails while a selection of her paintings and small sculptures fill Ottosen Gallery. World renowned and based in Arizona, Rotraut's artwork explores the energy of the seasons and the relationship of nature with the sky, sun, and universe."

Rotraut Klein-Moquay is a German-French artist recognized for her distinct style in painting and sculpture. She was born in Germany in 1938 and currently lives in the Valley. From a young age, Rotraut remembers observing a human connection to nature and universe. In her latest exhibit at the Garden, visitors will experience that journey with her colorful and bold monumental sculptures as they relate to the surrounding natural environment, the cosmos and the human experience of joy.

Desert Botanical Garden has an incredible collection of plants and cacti arranged in a beautiful park setting.

"Think the desert is all dirt and tumbleweeds? Think again. Desert Botanical Garden is home to thousands of species of cactus, trees and flowers from all around the world spread across 55 acres in Phoenix, Arizona."

This is how I communicate with people from the future. Specifically my good friend Donna. She's one of those Australians that get everything 11 hours before us in the UK. The curvature of the earth provides some issues with this communication method, but we have [patent pending] ways of getting around it.

This is how things look from her side of the world.

It was Donna's idea for this collaboration, I just made some stupid faces and attacked a soup can with a screwdriver. I let all of the creative credit go to her :}

Our collaborative contribution for BrickCon 2015. The Smurfs was voted 'Talk of the Town' at this convention. Ten feet wide, and five feet deep. Took about 100-person hours to set up on site, which isn't including the time that went into the construction of the huts, etc.

Big shout out to Danette, Levi (Hans' cousin), Matt & Linda, and all the others that helped to set up.
