[Texas Hotspot: Chisos Mtns, Big Bend NP, TX] The Colima Warbler is our most inaccessible warbler; requiring an exhausting, day-long hike up the Chisos Mountains where fewer than 200 pairs nest. It is not found anywhere else in the US. Because of its inaccessibility, it is also our least studied warbler with its nest discovered as recently as 1932. This species is uncommon but regular at this hotspot and best seen from April through August.
[Description: The Chisos Mountains offer the most unique birding opportunities at Big Bend National Park. The park itself is found at the border with Mexico in Southwest Texas with the closest major city being El Paso.]
This photo is out of sequence. It should be next to the lady walking in front of the wall. It is not as sharp as it could be because it was taken from a moving, lurching bus.
