I read an article today that said that people experience their highest stress levels of the year during the Christmas season.

This starts with the Christmas decorations, goes through the procurement of gifts, various Christmas parties at the company, school or kindergarten through to the planning and organization of the Christmas dinner. Then there are the family obligations during the holidays (who is with whom and when?). Finally, in the post-Christmas period, it culminates in redeeming vouchers, exchanging gifts and clearing up the domestic chaos that the holidays have left behind (both organizationally and emotionally).

When I read this coherently, only one question comes to mind: "Why are we doing this to ourselves?"

Especially in view of the Christian history (very simple circumstances and only three visitors) and what Christmas actually stands for, much of the above is hardly comprehensible to me.

This effort is the complete opposite of what would actually be appropriate at this time of year and takes away so much of the meaning of the Christmas season.

And so I wish you that this week you have the opportunity to clear your head of all these “I have to, because that is what is expected of me” and to replace them with as many “I want to, because that makes me happy” as possible replace.

 

Ich habe heute einen Artikel gelesen, der besagt, dass die Menschen in der Weihnachtszeit das höchste Stresslevel im Jahr empfinden.

Das beginnt schon bei der Weihnachtsdekoration, geht über die Beschaffung von Geschenken, diverse Weihnachtsfeiern von der Firma, der Schule oder dem Kindergarten bis hin zur Planung und Organisation des Weihnachtsessens. Hinzu kommen dann noch die familiären Verpflichtungen während der Feiertage (wer ist wann bei wem?). Schlußendlich gipfelt es dann in der Nach-Weihnachtszeit in dem Einlösen von Gutscheinen, dem Umtauschen von Geschenken und dem Beseitigen des häuslichen Chaos, welches die Feiertage hinterlassen haben (sowohl organsatorisch als auch emotional).

Wenn ich das so zusammenhängend lese, dann kommt mir nur eine Frage in den Sinn: "Warum tun wir uns das an?"

Vor allem im Hinblick auf die christliche Geschichte (sehr einfache Verhältnisse und nur drei Besucher) und dem, wofür Weihnachten eigentlich steht, ist für mich vieles von dem oben genannten kaum nachvollziehbar.

Dieser Aufwand ist das komplette Gegenteil von dem, was in dieser Zeit des Jashres eigentlich angebracht wäre und nimmt der Weihnachtszeit so viel von Ihrer eigentlichen Bedeutung.

Und so wünsche ich Euch, dass Ihr diese Woche die Gelegenheit habt den Kopf frei zu bekommen von all diesen "Ich muss, denn das wird von mir erwartet" und diese durch so viele "ich möchte, denn das macht mich glücklich" wie möglich zu erstetzen.

The Santa Maria del Mar is one of the symbols of Barcelona and is considered by many to be the most beautiful Gothic church in the city.

Due to the very short construction time of only 55 years, the church was completed in a building-historical epoch. There was no mixture with other architectural styles. Here you can experience pure Gothic.

 

The building is located in the historic district of El Born, just a few steps from Via Leietana, which separates the Gothic Quarter from El Born.

The construction of the Santa Maria del Mar

The site of the Church of Santa Maria del Mar has been of particular importance since early Christian times. The apostle James is said to have preached here. Therefore, a small chapel was built here. In 304 the body of Saint Eulalia was buried there. The bones were hidden from the Moors in the 8th century and only found again 15 years later. In 1339 the bones were then transferred to the cathedral.

  

Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling.

 

I've never been formally diagnosed, but I've always struggled with my spelling and fluent communication. Forming coherent sentences has always been a challenge for me, but with practice and modern tech, it easier to get by.

 

I thought dyslexia was an excellent topic to combine with the brief 'Dutch angle'. By tilting the image, it helps to suggest a sense of confusion and chaos while interpreting text.

Generally, I try to stay out of politics in Second Life. They cause a great deal of dissention and pain for many; and this cycle is an absolute tire fire.

There are so many questions for so many people.

Personally, I wonder if my rights will be taken away. If my marriage will still be valid in the next four years. I worry for a great many people who have already experienced violence and hatred.

For these reasons, and so many more - I offer my support and acceptance - I am a safe space for those in need or in danger.

There is so much more I can say on this, but Berry has put it all beautifully. Go visit her and see what she said so much more eloquently than I could hope to.

I had planned to post a new shot of a White-tailed Prairie Hare (or Jack Rabbit) today, one of a sequence I shot from the rolling red Toyota blind last week. But I decided I like this one - from three summers ago - better. The difference? I was on foot for this encounter.

 

Does it really matter? Not to the viewer, I'm sure; this is personal. Although the rolling blind is an effective way of getting wildlife shots I would otherwise miss, the car itself is a barrier, and as such it's limiting. Connection matters to me, and when I'm hiking, or even as in this situation when I exit the car and take a walk on the wild side, I am more connected.

 

I read something by Annie Dillard years ago; it may have been in Pilgrim At Tinker Creek. She told a story about a young fellow who brought his photos to a master and was disappointed to have them rejected. The following year he offered them again, the same ones, and received the same response - they aren't good enough. But I climbed a mountain for these, he said. And the reply: No one cares how much you suffered, what you went through. That is your business alone.

 

The bottom line: did you get the shots? Are they great images? If not, keep trying.

 

It's a hard world.

 

In the past I have overestimated the value of many of my photos because I suffered in the making thereof. All those mountain passes in my backpacking days, lugging the heavy pack, enduring all kinds of hardship and discomfort for the unmatched high of being in remote wilderness locations by myself. But it's still necessary to see well, and put the images together coherently, fine tuning tech details and composition and waiting for the good light.

 

Flickr, of course, is not the "hard world"; it's a friendly community of fellow seekers. It is also, perhaps, a place where personal experience does count for something, and that's why I ruminate upon the process of making these photos, and why I enjoy it when other people are able and willing to share their experience. And for me, it's a place where I might choose to upload a photo simply because my wild subject allowed me to sit quietly for a while and observe while it savoured some sweet prairie grasses, rather than just snapping a few images from my car and driving on.

La vida de un “cotilla” es muy sacrificada y en verano roza casi lo tormentoso.

Los cotillas no dejamos de ser unos soñadores, seres muy alejados de las palabras que fija la Real Academia de la Lengua como chismosas y parlanchinas, todo lo contrario, intentamos averiguar el porqué de las cosas, de ciertas actitudes, el intríngulis de ciertos comportamientos.

Íbamos todos camino de las Islas Cíes en un barco atestado de turistas.

Y de pronto apareció ella, brillando con luz propia sobre un mar de fondo completamente azul.

Y bajo un violento sol, una luz oblicua derramaba destellos nacarados en su pelo negro azabache.

Hay que reconocer que era una morenaza de muy buen ver, vamos, una chica de portada de revista, espléndida, solemne.

Un servidor elogiaba su fina elegancia, una auténtica reprimenda para mentes que ya creían haberlo visto todo.

Calculando a ojo, no tendría más de treinta y pocos años.

Hablaba por teléfono y me hubiera gustado estar un poco más cerca de ella, pero un vientecillo fresco me traía palabras sueltas, frases inconexas que mi imaginación descifraba de inmediato con cierta coherencia.

 

Al principio no entendía nada, pero poco a poco empecé a entenderlo todo.

Hablaba con el noviete, de eso no cabía la menor duda.

 

- No me fío de ti ni un pelo Carlos, siempre me has dado mala espina, aparte de que siempre has sido un auténtico sinvergüenza.

 

Ya tenía varios datos, el sujeto se llamaba Carlos y era un presunto sinvergüenza.

La cosa se ponía interesante.

 

-Por descontado que esta noche iré al BUDA y te cantaré las cuarenta a la cara y muy clarito Carlos para que no quede ningún género de duda.

Te dejo que ya hemos llegado a las Cíes, nos vemos esta noche, canalla.

 

Hay que reconocer que la chica tenía gran aplomo y cierto carácter.

 

La seguí entre pasarelas de madera y bellos pinares.

Ya en la playa, se quitó sus sandalias, se quitó su falda completamente negra, y su camisa, completamente blanca y quedó en un bikini que lo enseñaba todo y a la vez no enseñaba nada.

Tenía unas magníficas piernas, demoledoras, diría yo.

La miraba y la miraba y no daba crédito……y en eso me quedé dormido.

Al despertar ella ya no estaba.

Volví al muelle y vi partir barcos y más barcos, pero en ninguno estaba ella.

Cogí el último barco y una cosa tenía muy clara, esa noche estaría en el Buda. ¡Vamos, como hay dios ¡

 

A las once de la noche hacía guardia en la puerta del BUDA.

Sobre las doce llegaron ellos. El Carlitos era guapo, las cosas como son, pero ella iba con un traje sastre de chaqueta, chaleco y pantalón azul marino de corte muy masculino, una camisa de raya diplomática y un cinturón negro haciendo juego con unos zapatos de cordones.

La quintaesencia de la pura elegancia. Radiante, solo faltaba una alfombra roja para resaltar tanta belleza.

 

Me senté lo más cerca posible de ellos y me llegaba un aroma fresco a flor de naranja, a madera de cedro…..a vainilla.

 

No podía oír gran cosa por la música, pero siempre quedan los gestos…..y los gestos siempre son muy elocuentes.

 

En un momento dado ella se levantó y dijo:

-¡Y una leche ¡ Ahí te quedas.

Eso lo escuché perfectamente. El hizo ademán de retenerla, pero ella de un manotazo retiró la mano de él.

Y se marchó.

Y yo la seguí.

Pero en un cruce de calles la perdí de vista. Volví sobre mis pasos con la esperanza de encontrarla, pero en vano.

Me hubiera gustado saber su nombre……por todo, por nada.

Les trompe-l'œil de Bernard Gout à Sainte-Marie-de-la-Mer Village.

En parallèle à son travail de peinture de chevalet, il réalise des peintures murales et des trompe-l’œil, sur commande en intérieur comme à l’extérieur.

Né à Perpignan en 1952.

Passionné depuis l’enfance par l’expression graphique, il trouve son équilibre dans la peinture.

Autodidacte, il suit un cheminement fait de hasard, de mystère, de surprises et d’émotions… construisant imperturbablement la cohérence d’un monde parallèle à sa mesure.

Ses modèles, des objets venus d’horizons les plus divers qui se côtoient et s’imbriquent dans son atelier et sont à l’origine d’expérimentations en séries.

Son attirance pour “tout” disperse sa recherche mais ce cheminement concrétise bien les questionnements de l’artiste.

Son expression murale, quant à elle répond à la commande de particuliers, d’entreprises ou de services publics et rajoute à la diversité de sa production.

 

Honestly....after 12 years Skyrim for me, with mods, is one of the best games out there, still!!! And there isn't a game as immersive as it....and with infinite mod possibilities, being coherent....Ex: Vilja, Aela and Serana.....with graphics at the top....!!! This is just to demonstrate wives and multiple outfits, weapons and armor.

  

Sinceramente....depois de 12 anos Skyrim para mim, com mods, é um dos melhores jogos que existem, ainda!!! While the original picture was taken on my iPhone - during a bright afternoon, I tweaked the picture in Photoshop to change completely the lighting conditions. This was done with various layers of mists and glows and filters. The sunset sky was also produced in photoshop. Leonardo AI upscaler was used to upscale and produce a coherent image and minute details into it.

I was delighted this week to become an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society after a successful distinction submission. This required 15 images - in my case as prints - around a coherent topic. The image here was the first in the sequence as displayed and all were based around this New Forest pool, made with an infrared camera and converted to B&W. As I said in my Statement of Intent it's a place of "eccentric charm" - scruffy to you and me - but it had a draw and I returned here over all seasons for several years and felt in the end there were enough images to make a set. Finding the right paper, printing them well and then mounting the prints (40x50cm mounts are recommended) were all practical challenges. The RPS provides a one-2-one session for advice which was invaluable and I had help from a good friend with the mounting. It all came together and I hand-delivered the portfolio to RPS House in Bristol at the end of May. You do have the option of attending the assessment in person but it's not the easiest place to get to for me and my set was first up at 10.00am so I went with the Zoom option to watch it & was pleased I did as the assessors are professionals at the top of our art and I would have retreated under my seat!! I did get some lovely feedback however and was delighted with the outcome after all the emotional energy that went into the process. I'd happily recommend the route for people who wanted to explore their own photography further and of course the project is an objective for something to do with the images we make - I'll need to find something else to focus on now!!

The castle Gartrop is a moated castle in the Hünxer district of Gartrop-Bühl. The castle arrangement lies near the country road between Hünxe and Schermbeck-Gahlen in the lip meadows in the southern area of the nature reserve high Mark-Westmünsterland. From the settlement of the former castle employee the today's place Gartrop developed.

 

The arrangement can be visited every second Thursday within the scope of events of the country inn resident there.

 

The plastered mansion in the strict style of the Dutch baroque is surrounded on three sides by a pond-like moat. In the 2-storey construction structural fabric of the first castle house from the 14th century is still included.

 

Four wings of the building surround a narrow inner courtyard which is roofed with a view dome. Besides, the eastern one and the western wing are shorter than remaining both and come out risalitartig of the construction body. The main entrance is in the biaxial east wing with a low watch tower which is concluded by an embowed bonnet with open lantern. Other three tracts of the simple construction own in each case a level hipped roof with small dormers.

 

7-stage steps lead to the main entrance from sandstone which is flanked by two half columns which run out on top in obelisks with ball handle. About the entrance the stone alliance coat of arms Albrecht Gisberts of Hüchtenbruck and his first Mrs. Johanna Katharina von Heiden as well as his second Mrs. Agne Maria von Bernsau is found.

 

Moreover, the annual number 1675 tells of the end of the construction time under Albrecht Gisbert son Albert Georg von Hüchtenbruck.

 

The most important space of the mansion is a big baroque hall in the ground floor which is developed to the Beletage. He owns a luxuriously formed relief stucco cover which is together with an alike formed copy in the castle Anholt incredibly on the Lower Rhine. Moreover, he owns a colourfully calm Lambris with about that to hanging, painted wall strings and a rococo chimney of marble which is up to height of the cover wood.

 

Nevertheless, central centre is the former inner courtyard which was reshaped by a roofing to a 2-storey hall. She serves with her pilasters as a Vestibül and stairwell. From there all rooms of the mansion are accessible. Their creation partially occurred in Dutch, partly in the classicistic style.

 

Old wall strings – the so-called Gartroper chinoiseries – were discovered in progress by restoration works from 2005. Besides, it concerns nine coherent canvases of 3.5-metre height and 80-to 98-centimetre width. On silvery gleaming, green ground with flowers and tendrils paintings they show the plants which are populated by exotic birds and in Chinese inspired scenes with women and children. Findings point to the fact that the strings come from the big baroque hall, because they well fitted to the green wooden version at that time of the space. Later the wall disguising was transferred in a smaller cabinet which was converted in the course of the time into a kitchen, so that the canvases disappeared, besides, under a wallpaper from the early days.

 

The Gartroper chinoiseries are especially valuable in her form and quality and incredibly in the space from the Lower Rhine. Merely in Potsdam teahouse Of Friedrich II. comparable is found. Models for the wall strings very much popular in the 18th century in the Chinese style are rococo paintings as for example from Antoine Watteau and François Boucher.

El origen de la ciudad fue el castillo de Besalú que ya se encuentra documentado en el siglo x, construido encima de un cerro donde están los restos de la canónica de Santa María, en la Alta Edad Media. Besalú deja ver una estructura arquitectónica y urbanística bastante coherente con el pasado medieval. La tour Victoria est une tour carrée située à l'extrémité sud-ouest du palais de Westminster, également désigné sous le nom de Chambres du Parlement (Houses of Parliament). Elle est nommée en l'honneur de la reine Victoria. Avec 98,5 mètres (14 étages), elle est légèrement plus grande que sa célèbre voisine, la Clock Tower (96,3 mètres), située à l'extrémité nord du palais, qui abrite Big Ben et fut renommée officiellement Elizabeth Tower à l'occasion du jubilé de diamant d'Élisabeth II en 2012.

Fortunately the town of Beverley which is only six miles from Hull does have one , Beverley Minster is considered one of the finest church buildings in England . A little history of the Minster

The Minster owes its origin and much of its subsequent importance to Saint John of Beverley, who founded a monastery locally around 700 AD and whose bones still lie beneath a plaque in the nave. The institution grew after his death and underwent several rebuildings. After a serious fire in 1188, the subsequent reconstruction was overambitious; the newly heightened central tower collapsed c. 1213 bringing down much of the surrounding church. Work on the present structure began around 1220.

It took 200 years to complete building work but, despite the time scale involved, the whole building has coherent form and detail and is regarded as one of the finest examples of Perpendicular design, the twin towers of the west front being a superlative example. These formed the inspiration for the design of the present Westminster Abbey.

Gaunts Tower

 

The work at Kenilworth undertaken from 1370 by John of Gaunt, Edward III’s fourth son, counts as one of the most significant and ambitious building campaigns of the 14th century.[3] He created a suite of apartments conceived according to a coherent architectural programme. Edward III first achieved such unified treatment at Windsor Castle in the 1350s, and Gaunt’s work at Kenilworth represented the start of its transmission elsewhere.

 

This photograph was taken using a Canon EOS 3 film camera and a 16-35mm f4L IS USM Lens, film used was 35mm Ilford HP5 Plus rated at 400 ISO. The film was developed using Ilford Ilfotec DD-X and was digitized using soa Nikon super coolscan 5000 ED processed with DXO 5

software.

Jackie y compañer@s, aquí viene el segundo mosaico que os presento para esta búsqueda de julio. Igual que en el primero, todas las fotos están hechas a propósito con mi 50mm, y cada foto está relacionada con una emoción. Está hecho en ciudades o pueblos del Sur de Francia o de Cataluña: Céret (mi pueblo), Barcelona, Collioure, Pézenas, Mende.

 

Creo profundamente que este instante mágico que nos hace vibrar, al momento mismo que fotografiamos un tesoro que acabamos de encontrar, este sentimiento profundo que nos dice "ésta es la foto" nos viene directamente de emociones profundas, como pueden ser las de nuestra niñez, y con las cuales, gracias a la foto, volvemos a conectar. Así se establecen conexiones invisibles entre las calles que recorrimos y las calles de nuestra memoria. Disfruté mucho tejiendo esta red invisible a lo largo del mes de Julio 2016.

 

Éste es un mosaico más "externo", más orientado hacía el mundo que me rodea. Notaréis que es más colorido, con menos blur que en el primero que estaba muy relacionado con mi niñez y esa visión borrosa desde la cual la miro ahora.

 

También aquí acompaño cada foto con una canción o una música en coherencia con la emoción que sentí al hacer la foto, o que siento ahora mirándola. Este mes de julio ha sido muy intenso para mi. Tenía muchísimo trabajo (no estoy para nada de vacaciones) pero lo he dejado un poco de lado para dedicarme a este proyecto fotográfico, y a pesar de la presión, he tenido la sensación de que este tiempo robado al trabajo era algo sumamente importante para mi.

This is the first exhibition of the Design Dullegil Special Exhibition, and this year we are joined by world-renowned artist Felice Varini, who turns everyday spaces into artworks. The Colors Shapes Movements exhibition presents four new works created by shapes and colors that constantly change according to the movement of visitors. The exhibition of the Design Dullegil spans 167 meters hand-painted by the artist.

 

Felice Varini, a Swiss artist based in Paris, creates hypnotising artworks that transforms ordinary spaces into paintings. For Seoul Light 2024, Varini produced four original artworks under the exhibition Colours Shapes Movements. His artworks, hand painted onto the walls, floors and ceilings of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, depend on the viewers perception to be realised: “When the spectator stands in a given place, it is coherent. When the individual shifts from that point of view, an infinite number of perspectives of the form arise”. Inspired by the fluid architecture and hugging the curved interiors of the DDP, Varini’s exhibition is intended to be seen both as fragments and as a whole.

The Agioi Anargyri chapel at Cape Greco, just east of Ayia Napa, Cyprus, seems to be part of the landscape. Even its colour scheme reflects the off-white lime stone rocks and the deep blue sea. Below, there is a cave where, legend has it, saints lived as hermits a long time ago. Religion, the land, and the sea, as one coherent and inseparable whole. Not quite. This chapel dates to the late 20th century and reflects the tendency of the Cypriot Orthodox Church to claim territory and monopolise the narrative. But I do appreciate the beauty of the place and can understand why couples would wish to have this breathtaking venue for their wedding ceremony. Voigtlaender NC 1.4/35.

Merriman, Nebraska

I spotted this bus in the distance as I drove along Highway 20. Naturally I had to know what it was for. It required walking though about a quarter mile of grass/weeds. What I discovered was a bit difficult to describe or photograph in a coherent manner. I climbed up into the bus and took a number of photos, but nothing presented itself in a manner that would show the viewer what this was. Under the bus in the middle, a platform can be seen, so I disembarked the bus and went to the platform. The platform overlooked some broken up pavement, but it seemed to small for racing, unless for horses. As I was standing on the platform, two horses did come passing beneath me. There were some bleachers, mostly rotted. So it was a mystery to me, and still is to a certain extent. The only reference to this place I could find on the internet stated: "A former quarter-mile asphalt track located west of Merriman, Nebraska. Track was open for 20 years last racing in 1985."

I've been stalking this tree for a while now, but just haven't been able to pull together a coherent image. My struggle came to an end this morning with the arrival of perfect conditions. All of sudden a multitude of possible compositions revealed themselves to me. Needless to say, I took full advantage and took many shots. This is probably my favourite. I hope you like it too :-)

The days plans come to an abrupt halt. That guttural moan we have come to recognise with an oncoming seizure screams out. Our son is gripped by another seizure, his second today. First, awakening him from his sleep and now contorted into terrible shapes alongside me. I fear his neck may break as his head is swung so far over his shoulder. I cradle him, ignoring the flaying arms and legs that hit me.

 

This was a bad fit. I gradually lift him off the couch and lower him onto the floor putting him in the recovery position, checking his mouth is clear and having my fingers bitten in the process. As he lays there shaking violently, I lay with him, trying to bring him comfort and talking to him all the time.

 

I count seven minutes before he shows any signs of relaxing. He eventually looks at me with eyes so bloodshot they look like they are bleeding. He doesn’t see me even though he is looking but he says, in a strangely coherent string of words, “I can’t do this anymore. Make it stop”. I know not what else to do, but to be there and protect him, and to comfort him.

 

Sometimes there is nothing else to do, but to pray. I pray that our Lord would take something of me and allow our son to be free from this endless nightmare he suffers …

 

It takes three hours for him to become relaxed again. It will take the rest of the day, maybe longer for him to return to how he was before todays seizures. I fear that before he fully recovers, as is frequently the case, he will succumb to more, and the cycle starts again …

 

I often read from other Epilepsy support groups, ‘You are a Warrior’ ‘Do not let Epilepsy define you’ ‘Live your life, not that which Epilepsy dictates’ … All well-meaning words and sentiments, but our son suffers so much, so frequently and no matter how much we do not want him to be defined by this condition, we do have to consider its impact first, and then live in whatever time is left.

 

The Speicherstadt, Hamburg.

Speicherstadt, or City of Warehouses, is the largest coherent historic ensemble of port warehouses in the world.

 

Located in Stadtteil HafenCity, in the North German port city of Hamburg, the Speicherstadt was built between 1883 and 1927 on a group of narrow islands in the river Elbe. Since July 2015, the Speicherstadt, along with the adjacent Kontorhaus district and Chilehaus, has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Williamson County Courthouse Historic District in Georgetown, Texas is an unspoiled, coherent and intact area composed primarily of two-story limestone structures of Victorian commercial design.

These encircle the Courthouse which is located in the center of the District. The structures surrounding the courthouse typically form a block of contiguous commercial buildings on each side of the square like the east side starting with this corner where the Masonic Lodge has been housed on the Square since it was organized in 1851. The Masonic Building, built circa 1900, is one of the most attractive buildings on the square with its two-story, rectangular limestone and narrow main facade (seen here facing west); a chamfered corner displaying an oriel and a side containing alternate entrances. Today, the building houses Gumbo's on the Square, "an upscale but casual dining experience showcasing some of the greatest flavors to come out of any French-inspired Cajun kitchen."

L'aménagement du quartier de la Défense a été confié par l'État en 1958 à l'établissement public pour l'aménagement de la région de la Défense (EPAD), dont le périmètre d'intervention a été réduit en 2000, puis élargi en 2010, devenant l'Établissement public d'aménagement de la Défense Seine Arche (EPADESA) afin de mettre en œuvre un projet cohérent de la Seine à la Seine, sur l'un des territoires majeurs du Grand Paris6. Le périmètre d'action de cette entité créée en 2010 dépasse largement le boulevard circulaire de la Défense et s'étend désormais sur les communes de Puteaux, Courbevoie, Nanterre et La Garenne-Colombes. Le territoire est classé « opération d'intérêt national », ce qui met les autorisations d'urbanisme sous la responsabilité de l'État et non des maires. The refectory of the Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is built in the Russian-Byzantine style with a characteristic round shape of slits, appears with a pyramidal design and various silhouette solutions. The internal layout is of a hall type - the eight-room premises of the church are connected by a wide arch to the first surface of the refectory. The main volume of the church is completed by a large superspherical bathhouse, approximately 20 m in diameter, pierced at the base by 32 arched windows. The castle Gartrop is a moated castle in the Hünxer district of Gartrop-Bühl. The castle arrangement lies near the country road between Hünxe and Schermbeck-Gahlen in the lip meadows in the southern area of the nature reserve high Mark-Westmünsterland. From the settlement of the former castle employee the today's place Gartrop developed.

 

The arrangement can be visited every second Thursday within the scope of events of the country inn resident there.

 

The plastered mansion in the strict style of the Dutch baroque is surrounded on three sides by a pond-like moat. In the 2-storey construction structural fabric of the first castle house from the 14th century is still included.

 

Four wings of the building surround a narrow inner courtyard which is roofed with a view dome. Besides, the eastern one and the western wing are shorter than remaining both and come out risalitartig of the construction body. The main entrance is in the biaxial east wing with a low watch tower which is concluded by an embowed bonnet with open lantern. Other three tracts of the simple construction own in each case a level hipped roof with small dormers.

 

7-stage steps lead to the main entrance from sandstone which is flanked by two half columns which run out on top in obelisks with ball handle. About the entrance the stone alliance coat of arms Albrecht Gisberts of Hüchtenbruck and his first Mrs. Johanna Katharina von Heiden as well as his second Mrs. Agne Maria von Bernsau is found.

The most important space of the mansion is a big baroque hall in the ground floor which is developed to the Beletage. Der Chitwan-Nationalpark ist ein Nationalpark in Nepal, der 1973 als erster Nationalpark des Landes unter dem Namen Royal Chitwan National Park gegründet wurde.

The coherent protected area of 2,075 km2 (801 sq mi) represents the Tiger Conservation Unit (TCU) Chitwan-Parsa-Valmiki, which covers a 3,549 km2 (1,370 sq mi) huge block of alluvial grasslands and subtropical moist deciduous forests.

Me agrada muchísimo este paisaje!!!!!!!!

Es una imagen perfectamente compuesta con reducidos elementos. La simplificación expone el significado, convirtiéndolo en claro y depurado.

Las líneas de contorno y los suaves matices presentan variaciones leves con efectivo resultado en cuanto a la perspectiva y sensación de profundidad. En este sentido, el contraste; fundamental para que se organice eficazmente una configuración visual; es ligero, pero conserva los desniveles indispensables para percibir los detalles de una escena serena.

Conclusión: Es una fotografía de cuidada composición que constituye un mensaje visual coherente, armonioso y apacible.

The design was awarded to the architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage. He not only designed the house, but also the interior, the furniture, the gardens, service buildings and even a bridge at the Jachthuis. This created a coherent whole, a Gesamtkunstwerk. 52° 7′ NB, 5° 50′ OL

Également désigné sous le nom de Chambres du Parlement (Houses of Parliament), ce vaste édifice est le lieu où siège le Parlement du Royaume-Uni : la Chambre des communes (House of Commons) et la Chambre des lords (House of Lords). Le palais borde la rive nord de la Tamise et se situe au centre de la ville, dans l'arrondissement londonien de la cité de Westminster. Besalú es un municipio de la comarca de La Garrocha, en la provincia de Gerona, Comunidad Autónoma de Cataluña, España.

La población es un centro turístico gracias a su arquitectura medieval.

El origen de la ciudad fue el castillo de Besalú que ya se encuentra documentado en el siglo X, construido encima de un cerro donde están los restos de la canónica de Santa María, en la Alta Edad Media. El trazado actual de la villa no responde fielmente a su estado original pero sí que posibilita a grandes rasgos la lectura de la urbanización de la Edad Media con la existencia de importantes edificios: el puente, los baños judíos, la iglesia del monasterio de San Pedro de Besalú y San Julián, antiguo hospital de peregrinos, la casa Cornellá, la iglesia de San Vicente y la sala gótica del Palacio de la Curia Real.

 

Besalú deja ver una estructura arquitectónica y urbanística bastante coherente con el pasado medieval. La importancia monumental de Besalú viene dada fundamentalmente por su gran valor de conjunto, por su unidad, que la determina como una de las muestras más importantes y singulares de los conjuntos medievales de Cataluña.

 

Miró I el Joven fue el primer conde independiente de Besalú. Besalú comenzó a adquirir importancia como capital de condado independiente después de la muerte de Wifredo el Velloso en el año 902, condición que perdió al morir Bernat III, yerno de Ramón Berenguer III, sin descendencia; como consecuencia, en 1111 el condado de Besalú pasó a la casa de Barcelona.

 

Durante la Guerra de la Independencia se produjo una batalla con victoria de las tropas españolas al mando de Juan Clarós.

 

En 1966, fue declarada «Conjunto Histórico-Artístico Nacional» por su gran valor arquitectónico.

One of the largest collections of monolithic body forms and graves can be found at the down slope of this monolithic carved form, in a greater site that can almost hear the lapping way of the river Ebro. Whilst many of the carved body forms are certainly sarcophagi from the early medieval, the above main monolithic loci looks coherently to have the surface language more typical of late prehistorical ages (for example the chalcolithic bridge), suggesting a lengthy period of site use that spanned prehistory with history.

The castle Gartrop is a moated castle in the Hünxer district of Gartrop-Bühl. The castle arrangement lies near the country road between Hünxe and Schermbeck-Gahlen in the lip meadows in the southern area of the nature reserve high Mark-Westmünsterland. From the settlement of the former castle employee the today's place Gartrop developed.

 

The arrangement can be visited every second Thursday within the scope of events of the country inn resident there.

 

The plastered mansion in the strict style of the Dutch baroque is surrounded on three sides by a pond-like moat. In the 2-storey construction structural fabric of the first castle house from the 14th century is still included.

 

Four wings of the building surround a narrow inner courtyard which is roofed with a view dome. Besides, the eastern one and the western wing are shorter than remaining both and come out risalitartig of the construction body. The main entrance is in the biaxial east wing with a low watch tower which is concluded by an embowed bonnet with open lantern. Other three tracts of the simple construction own in each case a level hipped roof with small dormers.

 

7-stage steps lead to the main entrance from sandstone which is flanked by two half columns which run out on top in obelisks with ball handle. About the entrance the stone alliance coat of arms Albrecht Gisberts of Hüchtenbruck and his first Mrs. Johanna Katharina von Heiden as well as his second Mrs. Agne Maria von Bernsau is found.

 

Moreover, the annual number 1675 tells of the end of the construction time under Albrecht Gisbert son Albert Georg von Hüchtenbruck.

 

The most important space of the mansion is a big baroque hall in the ground floor which is developed to the Beletage. He owns a luxuriously formed relief stucco cover which is together with an alike formed copy in the castle Anholt incredibly on the Lower Rhine. Moreover, he owns a colourfully calm Lambris with about that to hanging, painted wall strings and a rococo chimney of marble which is up to height of the cover wood.

 

Nevertheless, central centre is the former inner courtyard which was reshaped by a roofing to a 2-storey hall. She serves with her pilasters as a Vestibül and stairwell. From there all rooms of the mansion are accessible. Their creation partially occurred in Dutch, partly in the classicistic style.

 

Old wall strings – the so-called Gartroper chinoiseries – were discovered in progress by restoration works from 2005. Besides, it concerns nine coherent canvases of 3.5-metre height and 80-to 98-centimetre width. On silvery gleaming, green ground with flowers and tendrils paintings they show the plants which are populated by exotic birds and in Chinese inspired scenes with women and children. Findings point to the fact that the strings come from the big baroque hall, because they well fitted to the green wooden version at that time of the space. Later the wall disguising was transferred in a smaller cabinet which was converted in the course of the time into a kitchen, so that the canvases disappeared, besides, under a wallpaper from the early days.

 

The Gartroper chinoiseries are especially valuable in her form and quality and incredibly in the space from the Lower Rhine. Merely in Potsdam teahouse of Friedrich II. comparable is found. Models for the wall strings very much popular in the 18th century in the Chinese style are rococo paintings as for example from Antoine Watteau and François Boucher.

My picture and featuring by Claudius II.

 

A year ago, I was taking this photo in the Apennines in the upper Trebbia Valley. You can see conglomerates of the Earth's mantle, in fact a remote magma, with next to it a bush of Ferns, a real remote plant relict that has survived till our days. All this had fascinated me to the point of sharing privately, this photo with Claudius. He also loves images that intrigue and move the thought. Since we have known each other, I have always recognized his gift as a visionary. When he returned the photo to me, with his personal “imaginary vision” of that moment, I was amazed and admired. I propose today that photo revisited by him, because it's a concentrate of landscape reality with traces that come from a remote past and where his visionary intuition, combines present and past in a coherent and reliable way, like a beautiful 1:1 scale Diorama.

C'era una volta

Un anno fa, scattavo in appennino in alta Valtrebbia questa foto. Si vedono conglomerati del mantello terrestre, di fatto un remoto magma, con accanto un cespuglio di Felci, vero e proprio relitto vegetale sopravissuto sino ai giorni nostri. Tutto ciò mi aveva affascinato al punto di condividere in privato, questa foto con Claudius. Ama anche lui immagini che incuriosiscono e muovono il pensiero. Da quando ci conosciamo, gli ho sempre riconosciuto la dote di visionario. Quando mi ha restituito la foto, con la sua personale rivisitazione di quel momento, sono rimasto stupito e ammirato. Propongo oggi quella foto, perchè è un concentrato di realtà paesaggistica con tracce che arrivano da un passato remoto e dove la sua intuizione visionaria, unisce presente e passato in modo coerente e attendibile, come in un bellissimo Diorama in scala 1:1.

Spero vi piaccia, come a me piace quella zona della alta Valtrebbia, regno di fauna selvatica e che meriterebbe di diventare un vero e proprio Parco Geologico.

Two weeks ago, after yet another early winter dusting of snow. I hiked the buttes again - this time with my videographer friend George. Dawn was subtle: splashes of pink over the high point in Grasslands Park.

 

The hiking was easy, although we did get adventurous and go off-trail to various vantage points. I've roamed all over this terrain for a couple of decades (even more!) and I know it well. It wasn't cold. It's always fantastic being out there with a huge prairie wilderness around us, no crowds - no people at all in winter - only critters and the sky.

 

Flickr is really slowing down as Christmas approaches, and I'm no different. Today I will do the 240-km round trip for last minute supplies. Might be too tired to think coherently after I return, but will catch up with everyone as soon as possible.
