In my opinion the Tuskegee Airmen and the Navajo Code Talkers are the forgotten Heroes of World War II. This memorial to the Navajo Code Talkers is dedicated to the Navajo servicemen whose codes were never broken and enable Allied soldiers to communicate on the battlefield.
A puzzle solver at heart, I have been a lover of secret messages and hidden codes and secret decoder rings all my life. As a kid, I solved the coded messages in the Dell puzzle magazines. And now as an adult and avid geocacher, I love to create coded puzzles that, when solved, reveal the hidden location of my caches. To create these puzzled, I have acquired over the years a collection of secret decoder rings with interchangeable rings! And a few books on cyphers and codes. The book in the photo, "Codes, Cyphers, Secrects and Cryptic Communication", is one of my favorites!
