Another one in the wacky world of my car stereo display. I can't remember what was playing, now, but it wasn't anything related to a word sounding like Toavench. A Google search doesn't turn-up anything for this word either. I'm beginning to think aliens are talking to me through my stereo readout. Now I just have to put the pieces of the puzzle together. We'll call it the Duh Cory Code.

Live coding is a performative practice where artists and musicians use code to create live music and live visuals. This is often done at electronic dance music events called Algoraves, but live coding is a technique rather than a genre, and has also been applied to noise music, choreography, live cinema, and many other time-based artforms.
Since its inception in 2014 there have been hundreds of Algoraves taking place in over 100 cities and festivals around the world, including performances at Glastonbury, Sonar, SXSW, Bluedot, Mutek and Transmediale. There have been many events in Birmingham including audio/visual focussed parties at Vivid projects in Digbeth.

In our ongoing efforts to support STEM education in South Africa, we recently hosted Chelsey Roebuck, co-founder and executive director of Elite Education, to present a series of digital literacy and coding workshops to learners in Ga-Rankuwa and Mamelodi.
Skills students gained ranged from emailing and web research do's and don'ts to HTML coding.
Roebuck presented these workshops to learners from the LEAP Science School in Ga-Rankuwa and to the students from our Mae Jemison U.S. Science Reading Room in Mamelodi.
