Lots of silly drama happening in the group lately... people not getting along and a smack down occurred recently among members. Okies, now everyone grow up! How can we expect PEACE in the world if we can't get along with each other's musical tastes? Geeesh!
So, I go to United Beats opening because Stefan Chrousch (such a good guy & NICE) and Yura Garzov, sim owner of Vania have a concept that I love. United Beats is unifying dj's, music and people in the never ending quest of unity.
The sim opening day was filled with dj's and events happening at the new club called Code 415. Very cool space, but omg, there were over 70+ people when I got there. Lag wasn't too bad though and that was surprising!
Yura had a cool 'do on, so I had to snap a bunch of pics. I saw 8wall, Stefan, Kemmi, Sakiko, Milagroso, Clastix, Frenzy, Seismo, Alec & Pantzer there hanging out and dancing. I was a little under the weather, so I found a couch and just laid there listening to Kemmi's music.
Later on, Xavier and I hit the jazz and salsa... a perfect way to cap off the world music beats at Code 415. Bella Vida's house dj Angelsmoon Jewell was spinning his Indian fusion. Gawd, I love this dj! He plays the ultimate mash-up of world music from all parts of the globe. Divine!
We also caught Tone Uriza at The Majestic. Tone is blues, people, with such a rich bluesy voice and wailing on the guitar, Xavi and I were just taken back to the smoky clubs in the city experience. The place is also beautiful and reminds me of old hotels from the 40's.
Last for the night, we stopped off to say hi to goils at Piranha. I caught this strange picture from below the floor. My camera was going kinda wacky, but it is definitely a shot that could not be taken in RL.

The Montes de Oro is nice, but man, after having the Kenya Kangunu it was hard to want to have this.
GDS colleagues participated in 3 introductory sessions to coding at GDS. Students were from the Women's and BAME network. Volunteer coaches were from across the organisation, and included frontend developers, backend developers, and site reliability engineers.

This logo looks nice, and it is meant to link to many properties of the CODE ROOD movement. The spiralling shape refers to weather and climate, but also to the large changes that our society needs to make. The lines coming together refer to the movement of many people we are building. And of many types of people. The spiral also shows that we hope to be dynamic, active, creative, and open to new ideas and people.

Jaina Lefevre just filters out everything else and hugs her knees, focusing hard on what's going on below. "Please..mom...please. Take him down...come on..."
Jonathon Coage slowly walks up, a tired and angered gleam in his eye as he walks with the swagger of well trained and all buisness soldier about to rip a mans arm off and beat him to death with it. The stubble on his face is evidence of the rough days behind him, and the sight before him lets his tired mind know they're not over yet. He gives a slight nod to simon before taking his place next to Esha, his cold blue eyes silently following the action of his commander.
Kimani Silvercloud skitters down toward Jaina when Leigh moves off, rocks rolling down the Hil she comes to a stop next to Jaina and reaches for her hand, wanting to hold it tight
Esha Rajal dropped the spent cigarette on the ground and stomped it out with her boot. She pointed down the hill and replied to Ember, "Major's taking a beating from some UAC guy." She wrapped one arm behind Jon to give him a little squeeze at his arrival, but otherwise kept her eyes focused on the action below.
Deets Carroll keeps her shotgun trained on the UAC freak, although her attention is largely on the fight. Her knuckles are white.
Roaman Enzo hearing Esha turns around and gives a look. "That's enough Ms Rajal"
Ember Ronas looks where Esha points and falls silent for the time being. Her friend was smoking, that means now was not the time to try and be cute about matters. Of course, silence never lasted long with Ember and after a few moments in her own head she leaned over and muttered, "Anything I can do?"
Jaina Lefevre doesn't even notice the reach, but she squeezes Kimi's hand and keeps watching. "Mom said he was just using me to get to her." she says to Kimi. "They were setting her up. Well, now she's gonna take him down."
Kimani Silvercloud gives a quick reassuring sqeeze back, her eyes dark with worry "Yeah, dont worry, he's gonna go down"

The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.
hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.
