Many people have a little clutter here and there but in some households clutter can be a real problem. Obstructing pathways and masking surfaces, threatening to trip and injure anyone present, and adding stress and chaos to life are just a few examples of negative impacts clutter produces. One...
There's nothing like the damp clutter of fall leaves. I love how Makayla is running in this photo.
Results from my recent photo walk with friends. We were trying to match a photo scavenger hunt list. So fun! And so relaxing! I can't wait to see what everyone came up with.
Clutter much? Always. Bieng a consumer of odds and ends and various virtu, combined with my incapability for organization, equals pseudo disaster and a need for tolerant/similar rommies.
A small fraction of the junk we've accumulated. Half of it is mine (longboxes full of comics, some records, a couple boxes of books), the other half is my wife's (toys, action figures, CD's)

IHTW?!:2013-49 - Break a Photography Rule; Spent the week preparing for my first photo show (Saturday) followed by participating in my first craft sale (Sunday). Interesting experiences but they prevented me from taking photos all week while preparing despite a wonderful sunrise Wednesday morning and a nice sunset Friday. :-( The only 5 photos I squeezed in all week were during today's craft sale. A light behind my wife created a nice backlight. Only had my camera phone on hand which doesn't do her justice. I'm sure I have many things wrong with this image but the clutter is the most glaring to my eye.

I was given a challenge to create something unusual to be used in photos for our boardroom. A mixture of repetative patterns, macro and colours using barndoors and gells.
All photos are of IT items.

There were just as many pixs stuck here (as in the previous photo) before the big cleanup. Why do this, asked a friend? Well, how else could I put up new junk?! June 2010.
There is a bunch of junk piled on the bed for sorting in this pic. You can see how the old ceiling looked in this photo.. It was old tiles, water stained in a lot of places from a leaking roof.
Experimenting with new techniques when it comes to editing.. And it is so much fun. Can't seem to get it right, though.. Any tips are appreciated!
Basement Clutter
25 January 2013 -- 25/365

There is a reason I maintain a list of "safety shot" locations and concepts for this project. Today is a good example of why it's necessary. I've been on a work-related problem conference call since 7:00 AM, and there is no end in site. Since the probability of getting outside for a photo today is near zero, I went to my "safety shot" list for some possible in-house shots. This one was taken in my basement just after noon today. The light from the ground-level window in the upper right provided the contrast I wanted for a (hopefully) interesting black and white conversion. I avoided the use of a flash since that would have destroyed the "deep dark basement" feeling. While there's no real story in the shot, I'm pleased with the overall results.
Post processing started with a high key filter in Topaz B&W FX. I then adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A slight brightness/contrast adjustment and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.
