A manipulation of my original Colorado Farm image. I converted this one to B&W and cranked up the contrast to accentuate the light and shadow of the clouds based on comments recieved in my original image by user Fantastic Media Labs.

My climbing assault on Mt Rainier ended as my head smacked into the cloud base ( and the end of the plowed road ) at Paradise, elevation 5400'. The drive was like being in a black and white movie as I challenged the definition of "chains or approved traction tires ADVISED" signs along the winding ascent. No peek at the peak, I started back down. Then, around a hairpin turn a turnoff and this view appeared. For 20 minutes the clouds offered fleeting glimpses of the top rising almost 10,000' above me as sunset approached.
There are thousands of spectacular images of this majestic mountain, but my brain has recorded that view as I turned the bend...this is merely a digital rendition that does it no justice!
Coast to coast day two, we had ascended Loft Beck to escape from a very wet Ennerdale Valley and were rewarded with this view of Buttermere & Crummock Water. We were a precious few feet below the cloud base and mercifully the rain had ceased by this point.

Ennetix, a software start-up founded by UC Davis computer science professor Biswanath Mukherjee and colleague Abhishek Gupta, has received Phase One funding from the Advanced Scientific Computing Research branch of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.
