Over looking Hope Valley from Carhead Rocks. Light breaks around the valley but cloud means no foreground light on the rocks.
A morning of frustration and beauty in equal measure! Set off for Stanage Edge only to find it completely encased in hill cloud. I dropped down to Hook's Car, managed to get below the cloud base and decided to go to Carhead Rocks instead. No sunrise to speak of, then my camera shutter started jamming! Fortunately, got it working again. Finally, the light began to break around an hour after sunrise!

On Friday, April 24, Yahoo donated twelve racks of servers (480 machines in all) to Cornell University as part of our Y STAR Academic Partnerships program. The servers will be used for Big Data research, Cloud-based research, software-defined networking research, and general compute-based research.

You can see here that when I took this photo early this morning the weather wasn't admirable. Cloud base sat only 300ft above us meaning the balloons weren't able to launch, so The One Show, from the BBC, did a bit of filming with their own balloon!

As much as I love genomics and open source, I can't think of anything to
say that they don't say better. They are an active and growing community,
with new tools and features being added on a regular basis. Most recently,
they added a connection to Dropbox, so you can load files there and then
analyze them with the tools in Genomespace. Pretty awesome.
There are some other cloud-based genomics resources, but this one is
non-commercial, open source, funded by NGHRI (US government), a
collaboration of many of the major labs in genomics research, and supported
by Amazon. It's got everything going for it!

A total of six 46 inch commercial grade screens are strategically located throughout the club for the members' benefit. EyeMedia is helping the Winter Club to effectively use their digital signs, by offering industry best practice tips and professional content creation, for timely and engaging internal communications and promotions of the club's activities and events. The screens are also displaying licensed canadian news and weather as well, to help inform their members and guests.

Blow up Red Arrows model, they had to pull out of the display the cloud base at 600 ft was too low, so all she got was a few helicopters.
Low cloud base and damp conditions made for some great vortexes, (and fluff!) Really was an awesome display
