Macro Mondays- Cloth

A special order I made a few weeks ago finally came in the mail. There was more to it than what is shown, but the other items are going to be used on figs which are currently in the works right now. Trust me, one of them is going to be good.

I like to think this is as close to how it would have looked 150 years ago. I am standing outside the oldest brick house in the City of London taking this photo with my phone. On the way back from buying a Christmas Turkey at Smithfield Meat Market at the crack of dawn.

Cloth Fair is a street in the City of London where, in medieval times, merchants gathered to buy and sell fabric during the Bartholomew Fair. Today, it is a short residential street to the east of Smithfield in the north-western part of the city and is located in the ward of Farringdon Within. (Wikipedia)

The Cloth Hall was one of the largest commercial buildings of the Middle Ages, when it served as the main market and warehouse for Ypres' prosperous cloth industry. The original structure, erected completed 1304, lay in ruins after artillery fire devastated Ypres in World War I. Between 1933 and 1967, the hall was meticulously reconstructed to its prewar condition.
