My first photo of 2018. It's for the Macro Mondays theme, "Redux 2017 - My Favorite Theme of the Year." I chose the theme from March 27 - "Cloth/Textile." It's also going into a couple of POTD groups.
...Several hours have passed since I posted this and I just realized that the We're Here! group is posting their first pictures of the year. Well, I guess I will have to add this :-)
One of the lovely heirlooms I have from my grandmother is this hand-embroidered on linen table cloth. It's not very big - about the right size to cover an occasional table. Grandma did the needlework back around 1930-40. Each flower blossom is not quite 1 inch. I am very impressed with the precision of her stitches. I also love how soft the linen has become over the years.
Seconde version de mes essais du jour pour MacroMondays. Toujours un morceau choisi d'un petit pull noir orné de perles aux épaules

This past December my husband and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. My mom taught me how to make this folded star, back then. I used the fabrics from my wedding dress, the bridesmaid's dresses and the jr bridesmaid's dresses as a keepsake. My mom had made my dress as well as the bridesmaids dresses. I'm in the process of weeding out stuff I don't need. But this...I'm hanging onto.
