Cleome hassleriana, commonly known as spider flower or spider plant.

Taken at the LA Zoo. It was standing about 10 feet away! They're not too shy about getting right up to the visitors.

Bartlett, Tennessee

Possibly the same as 2013b from May.

Another closeup of nature's most beautiful flower with a more muted tone.

Still just trying to get to grips with theD3300 and the settings, so this is really just part of the practice. Please do feel free to leave feedback.

I saw a thingy on the craft magazine feed where a woman embroidered some cross-stitch on a guitar strap for her husband, so I decided to make one for Bill for xmas.

Bokeh at the grocery store.

It is cold, damp, and dreary here in Michigan today. I thought I would post this today to remind myself that spring is on its way. :)

My 6yo daughter is an expert at catching bugs (insects, whatever). She's been doing it for a long time, always very gently, and then allowing me to get a photo of it. :)

She had a lot of fun catching grasshoppers; they were a bit difficult, as she'd get close and then it would zip off suddenly, sort of flying/zooming about 3 feet away. But she was able to catch a few of them, and thankfully they sat still long enough for me to snag a few shots.

I know a picture of a dragonfly was already taken for tthis topic but I couldn't help taking pictures of this one, and I think this creature shows the nature of art with its neat colors, its cool looking eyes, and wings.

Day 35
