They're renovating Brisbane's City Hall, after finding lots of issues with the building and its safety.
Before heading into the top of the dome, we wandered around parts of the rest of the building's roof where they're demolishing years of ad-hoc add-ons so it can be restored to its original condition. There used to be a child-care center up here. And a gym. And a sauna. And who knows what - it's all going now, though.
The building is beautiful, inside and out - and the work to restore it worth every $, I believe.

The Eastern Columbia Building is a thirteen-story building located at 849 S. Broadway in the Broadway Theater District of downtown Los Angeles, and is considered by many to be the most beautiful of Los Angeles' historic buildings, as well as its finest surviving example of Art Deco following the 1969 destruction of Richfield Tower.
The building sits just across the street from the restored Orpheum Theater.
Developer Kor Group turned the property into condominiums that opened in fall 2006.
The Eastern Columbia Building was designed by Claud Beelman and opened on September 12, 1930, after just nine months of construction. It was built as the new headquarters of the Eastern Outfitting Company and the Columbia Outfitting Company, furniture and clothing stores.
The figures are the Goddesses of Peace holding an olive branch, accompanied by a drummer who is beating the hours in his bronze drum; above them there are the Goddess of Fairness holding a balance and the Goddess of Justice with a spade accompanied by two angels representing Day and Night. At 6 AM the angel symbolizing the day comes out, marking the beginning of the working day and at 6 PM the angel symbolizing the night comes out carrying two burning candles in his hands and marking the end of the working day and the arrival of the evening.

Bintulu Clocktower, this is an old picture, ( noticed a plane is taking off ?? ) The old airport is no more in use nowaday.
