The clocktower at Crouch End, the centre of our village.

Every hour on the hour I hear its chimes and if I'm awake at night I don't need to open my eyes and look at the led clock to know I should be asleep at that hour.

Time for another bit of drama.

This is the clocktower at Roath Park lake, Cardiff.

It's called the Scott Memorial, and was built in 1915.

3 exposures, 1 stop apart, merged and tonemapped.

I'm not usually a fan of overcooked HDR, but it just seemed to work for me.

See LARGE.

Thanks for the sim suggestion Gidgy!

Wikipedia: The Tour du Leughenaer is an octagonal tower 30m high in Dunkirk. Erected around 1450, this tower is the oldest monument in the city. It was built by Jacques Desfontaines, surrounded in the 18th century by a port surveillance platform, then made higher in 1814 to install a lighthouse. It has retained a large part of its 19th century inner workings. In 1995 it became the equivalent of a listed building.

Wikipedia: English Heritage has listed the building of 1961 at Grade II for its architectural and historical importance.

Sunset with the clocktower, the landmark of Graz my hometown. The minutes and hour hands of the clock are swapped so that the big hand shows the hours and the small hand the minutes.

There are many locations where we all shoot in the knowledge that it is a place where hundreds if not thousands of photographers have shot before, it can be very enjoyable seeking a viewpoint that hasn't been used before in that location.

I guess if you want to find out what time it is, no better way than to walk outside on the 17th floor and look up at a giant clockface, right?

Clock tower in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The clocktower known as the Horloge des Hermes in L'Argentière-la-Bessée was completed in 1922 to allow local factory workers to accurately tell the time. It makes for a beautiful landmark against a mountainous backdrop of the Écrins National Park.

Designed by Thai artist Chalermchai Khositpipat and unveiled in 2008 in honour of His Majesty the King, Chiang Rai’s elaborate golden clocktower (Hoh Nalika Chalerm Prakiat) is a work of art and tourist attraction in its own right. Chalermchai was the man who built the White Temple in Chiang Rai and that same distinctive architectural style from Wat Rong Khun can be seen again with the clocktower. The structure serves as a traffic roundabout and whilst it is distinctive enough during the day, the clocktower and setting takes on a whole new quality when it is lit up in the evening.
