In continuing my story from the previous picture, we loaded up and drove almost a mile down the road to Golf Course Road.
Golf Course Road provides a great overview of Click's Curve between Mountainair and Abo. All one has to do is drive up the road until they are satisfied with the elevation. Then, you just get out and shoot wherever you want. Pretty easy.
We had just enough time to catch this D-KCKLAC one last time before letting it go. The only reason I had no interest in catching it again was because my half-eaten green chili cheeseburger was still waiting for me at the AirBnB just up the hill. I knew the burger was ready to be consumed, so we went back to the house so that I could finish the job.

This little click beetle repeatedly opened and closed its elytra (the hard, protective forewings, orange in this beetle), which I thought meant it was preparing to fly, but it never did take off while I was watching. I think it was actually getting its flight wings properly folded and stowed away. (Montana)

This S-LBENSA is crawling up the grade just west of Mountainair, NM on this bright and sunny New Mexico morning with the Manzanos in view. I do enjoy an international double stack train. All those different colored containers make it pop a little extra.
Pretty handy that this spot is only a 3 minute walk from the casita I was staying in.

I'm not feeling very well today, I have a bit of head cold and am feeling a bit sluggish for it.
I did manage to get the tree decorated, but it sort of zapped the energy from me so sitting on the floor I shot a very quick photo for today.
Not very creative, but I do love the lighting from my tree so I'm okay with it!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Lentinus crinitus. Note two caps coming off the one stipe. Doesn't happen very often. 35 mm rain over 4 days brought these up. I've added the tag "Fungi doubleheader " so that if you click your "mouse" on it you can see other doubleheaders that I have found. Largest cap 2.5 cm. My block.

I uploaded this a few years back and wanted to upload a larger version. One of the best mornings of photography I've ever had. During a winter camping trip in the Mt Hood national forest.
This image was created using my most current post processing workflow. I just finished producing an instructional video which I illustrate how I use the powerful tools and techniques available in Lightroom and Photoshop along with the TKActions V4 Panel to achieve an incredible level of control throughout my workflow.
