The Cleveland Clinic Las Vegas. A great example of modern architecture. I’ve taken shots here before, but this is the first time I’ve seen it at night. Petty about that street lamp right in the middle.
Thank you to whoever planned this iconic viewpoint so beautifully - this could be done in so many places but it's not. Kudos to someone in Cleveland.

Cleveland, Ohio, USA, on a stormy and windy evening, one minute it was clear, the next minute early season snow showers, thankfully there was a gazebo that offered some shelter from the elements.
Covid story of that day (November 1st): I had booked a room at the Travelodge on booking.com, when I showed up the door was locked and there was a taped sign saying the hotel wasn't accepting guests and please go to the Days Inn instead. OK, so I drive to the Days Inn, and the reception is not staffed and the lobby is full of sketchy characters without masks... After 1 full minute I get the hell out of dodge and book a delightful but expensive B&B on my phone.......later I found out that the other hotels were taken over by the local Public Health Authorities as a boarding house for homeless Covid quarantine patients, the hotel was closed since JULY and they were still taking reservations on booking.com!!!! Yikes! I didn't get sick as a result but that was close. Anyway even after all that booking.com is still after me about why I was a no show and that I may be responsible, calling the hotel is of course an exercise in futility, still no resolution yet.

This skyline is a multi image panoramic stitch captured from Cleveland Metroparks Edgewater Park.
There was very little to no wind, so the clouds and subtle water movement did not pose a problem with the multi image stitch.
From the Cuyahoga River flats. The raised bridge is an abandoned Bascule lift bridge of the former B&O Railroad. There are a number of these abandoned bridges left in place in the Cuyahoga Flats, standing now as sentinels of the past.

The D&H heritage unit emerges from a spectacular Cleveland sunrise as it leaves 257 over the Cuyahoga River. Running on only a couple hours' sleep, the scattered clouds and azimuth of the sun pulled me from the warmth of my bed for what promised to be a picturesque sky. With just 30 seconds to spare, I sprinted to the pedestrian bridge and snapped one of my favorite photos of 2025 so far

Public Square is the central plaza and historic heart of Downtown Cleveland. Designed by surveyor Moses Cleaveland in 1796, it was patterned after a traditional New England green, a common space in New England towns.
Features and History
Historic Center: The 9.5-acre (3.8-hectare) square was originally the center of the city plan, traditionally divided into four quadrants by the intersection of Superior Avenue and Ontario Street.
Key Monuments:
Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument: Dedicated in 1894, an impressive monument in the southeast quadrant honoring Cuyahoga County residents who served in the American Civil War.
Statue of Moses Cleaveland: Located in the southwest quadrant, honoring the city's founder.
Tom L. Johnson Monument: Dedicated to a former, influential progressive mayor of Cleveland.
Historic Landmark: In 1879, Public Square was the site of the first successful demonstration of electric streetlights in the world, using arc lamps designed by Charles F. Brush.
Modern Redesign (2016): After decades of primarily serving as a traffic hub, a major $50 million renovation transformed the square into a more cohesive, pedestrian-friendly civic space. The stretch of Ontario Street was closed, and Superior Avenue was restricted to transit buses. The northern half is now primarily a sloping lawn, while the southern half is a hardscape plaza featuring a fountain that converts into an ice-skating rink in the winter.
Landmark Buildings: The square is bordered by Cleveland's tallest skyscrapers, including the Terminal Tower and Key Tower, as well as historic buildings like the Old Stone Church.
