For the Saturday Self-Challenge group, who's theme this week was "Neon." I have to say, I found much more neon out there than I thought I would. This cleaner had their name up in lights and it fairly stood out, once I was looking for it!
What a fun photo shoot. I got to hang out with some friends while they practiced their craft at being musicians. Got to see a cool part of Oakland, and got to practice my craft as a photographer. It was a great honor to help make photos for their upcoming album.
In 2024 bestond materieel '24, beter bekent als 'de blokkendoos' vanwege de vorm of 'stofzuiger' vanwege het geluid, officieel 100 jaar. Om dit te vieren reed de Stichting 2454 CREW met Mat '24 stel C9002 'Jaap' enkele slagen tussen Leiden en Den Haag Hollands Spoor. Dit was voor ons 'om de hoek'. Eerst hebben we op enkele plekken in de buurt van Voorschoten gestaan en toen weer terug naar Leidschendam voor de laatste slagen.
In 2024, the '1924' rolling stock, better known as 'the block box' because of its shape or 'vacuum cleaner' because of its sound, officially turned 100 years old. To celebrate, the 2454 CREW Foundation operated a few runs between Leiden and The Hague Hollands Spoor with Mat '24 set C9002 "Jaap." This was just around the corner for us. We first stopped at a few locations near Voorschoten and then returned to Leidschendam for the final runs.

Wir machten zunächst Halt an einigen Orten in der Nähe von Voorschoten und kehrten dann für die letzten Fahrten nach Leidschendam zurück.
Looks can be deceiving, as from a slightly elevated position, this long freight train is actually climbing up the one in 50 grade through Allard.
The abnormally clean Warbonnets were a bonus, as were three mid-train helpers that are unfortunately hidden behind one of the kinks here (two 40-2s and a dash 9). The underexposed, grainy back-focussed, fungus-infested slide was the opposite of a bonus, but it's cleaned up reasonably well. Oh to take a digital camera and a few decent lenses for a trip in Doc's DeLorean Time Machine...

I was in one of the branches of the old dry cleaners that was in the group that I worked for back in the day talking to an old colleague when he said look at that - I turned on the spot , fired up the camera and took a shot . As you can see in that time it had started to go behind the fence so I did not get a full shot unfortunately . I will not stick my head out and say what this is other than to say that it is an old Alvis - year and model I am not sure . For the eagle eyed you will see part of my SSC shot now with all the masonry demolished !!
And that is another random car on the streets !!

As we left the capital city, Wellington I saw window cleaners on ropes. They were on the Beehive (Māori: Te Whare Mīere) which is the common name for the Executive Wing of New Zealand Parliament Buildings. This is where our coalition government rules from. In the last few days they finally decided to go ahead with the new hospital for Dunedin. For several months we had $48 million worth of piles waiting for a decision to continue building or not. Fortunately they are now going to continue.
At 5 pm here it is 22C with sun and light breeze. The back to school summer continues.
ENGLISH:
I'm Heinz. I am a self-employed window and facade cleaner. Right now I'm cleaning the windows of Susi's hairdressing salon. A window is similar to our soul. We all want nice, clean windows. But when the panes are clean, things happen quickly and they are soiled by particles in the air, flies or bird droppings. It's the same with our soul. One bad thought or one bad word and our soul is impure. I can clean windows, but only Jesus Christ can cleanse souls. Let's call him for help!

Soy Heinz. Soy un limpiador de ventanas y fachadas por cuenta propia. Ahora mismo estoy limpiando los cristales de la peluquería de Susi. Una ventana es similar a nuestra alma. Todos queremos ventanas bonitas y limpias. Pero cuando las ventanas están limpias, las cosas suceden rápidamente y se ensucian con partículas en el aire, moscas o excrementos de pájaros. Es lo mismo con nuestra alma. Un mal pensamiento o una mala palabra y nuestra alma es impura. Puedo limpiar ventanas, pero solo Jesucristo puede limpiar almas. ¡Vamos a llamarlo para pedir ayuda!

Ich bin der Heinz. Ich bin selbständiger Fenster- und Fassadenputzer. Gerade bin ich am Putzen der Fenster von Susi’s Frisiersalon. Mit einer Scheibe verhält es sich ähnlich wie mit unserer Seele. Wir alle möchten schöne, saubere Fensterscheiben. Aber wenn die Scheiben sauber sind, geht es schnell und sie sind durch Partikel in der Luft, Fliegen oder Vogeldreck verschmutzt. Genauso ist es mit unserer Seele. Ein schlechter Gedanke oder ein böses Wort und unsere Seele ist unrein. Ich kann Scheiben putzen, aber Seelen kann nur Jesus Christus reinigen. Rufen wir ihn um Hilfe an!
