A sanitation worker in Wenchuan County, Sichuan, cleans up along State Road 213 on May 4, 2009. A year after the 5.12 earthquake destroyed the road, some broken sections still have yet to hauled away. The man pictured here lost a son in the disaster.
When I first saw this I wasn't sure what it was. But then seeing the side booms I figured it was a track cleaner? After a google search yes, it is a track cleaner.
What's interesting is that the word "KERSHAW" is written under the CP rail # on the side of it. Not sure who or what they are, but interesting for sure.

Melody Cleaners has been here for more than 40 years. I don't know exactly when they opened.
After I got back home I found out there is a Melody Cleaners--Yuma, Arizona waymark (WM4NFW) on the Waymarking.com website.

Southside Cleaners is a long time Lakeland, Florida business. I like how they have preserved this old structure and neon sign...It's a local landmark now.
The snail pushes through a green
night, for the grass is heavy
with water and meets over
the bright path he makes, where rain
has darkened the earth's dark. He
moves in a wood of desire,
pale antlers barely stirring
as he hunts. I cannot tell
what power is at work, drenched there
with purpose, knowing nothing.
What is a snail's fury? All
I think is that if later
I parted the blades above
the tunnel and saw the thin
trail of broken white across
litter, I would never have
imagined the slow passion
to that deliberate progress.

There's a new expression: snail hunter!!!...
Every time I step out onto our veranda on a cool, slightly damp morning (not now, obviously!!), I can find some of my window cleaners already at work, hunting to get the last dirt off the panes before the sun is up too high and dries the work force out... LOL
Over breakfast we ponder their silent and steadfast proceedings. They move mostly in the dark and yet leave traces of (some) light behind... If you don't believe this, come and look at their work...!! But you can only see their art on a humid or wet day; they are definitely not exhibiting for everybody, only for the true art lover!

This little gadget is for cleaning one's glasses. On one end are two arms holding cleaning pads that go on either side of the lens so you clean both sides at once. On the opposite end, a small brush pops out to brush away dry particles but I hardly ever use it. I do occasionally round up my reading glasses so I can clean all five pairs.

One of the vital roles that the volunteers of Puffing Billy undertake is that of engine cleaner. It's a filthy and often thankless task, but this dedicated crew inspect every inch in, around and under each of Puffing Billy's locomotives with their trusty cleaning cloths.
Everything that can be polished is polished. Everything that can be scrubbed is scrubbed.
They take pride in their work and it shows in the presentation of these locomotives 364 days a year to the blissfully ignorant general public.
