It was amusing action here yesterday. Friends and family came to help me clean the cellar. It was a lot of job ! It´s so fun to do such together, and then we had some good dinner together afterwards and few drops of red vine ;)

At the Zeniarai-benten shinto shrine in Kamakura, you place your money in a basket, then pour water from natural springs over it. This is supposed to bring you good financial success. How could I pass that up?
I have a darkroom in my basement. (Ok, it's more of a darkcorner, but who's keeping score?) My husband started building a music studio shortly after I got my darkroom set up. This caused ungodly amounts of drywall dust to fly all over the basement and land on all my newly installed darkroom gear: bad news. Since the studio construction is complete, I started to clean up all my stuff which included rinsing off all the film I had developed and had sitting around.

The BRB is renowned for its use of the latest technology in its newest steam locos, and this one, by which we were pushed to the top of Rothorn, was one of them. Its valve gear and piston system is different to the usual, so it sounds more like a giant sewing machine than a steam engine, and it runs on either LPG or very fine oil (can't remember which), so it doesn't pollute the atmosphere. As one of our party said, "It doesn't sound like a steam engine, and it doesn't smell like one either". Personally, I think they're fantastic, and one of the main reasons why I wanted to visit the BRB - the only line on our trip that I'd actually heard of before.
The Collegiate Chapters of Mid-Michigan Section, SAE International, will report on their efforts to compete in the SAE Collegiate Design Competitions. The Collegiate Design Series events include the Clean Snowmobile Challenge, Formula SAE, Supermileage, and Mini Baja. By competing in these events, students learn more than just engineering. To complete a design project and participate on a team develops expertise and skills that are highly valued by the mobility industry. The student chapter presentations will cover the challenges they face, their hands-on experiences and real-world lessons in project management, marketing, public relations, communication, design, cost.
