Road crews have started to cart away all that white, black, brown and yellow snow away. Wear a hat when this stuff starts falling, you don't what's in it.
So clean and organized! My Mom would be proud.

Half of it, anyway. A friend gave me these two Chinese Algae Eaters after she discovered they like to eat goldfish slime coat. I put them in with my mbuna (African cichlids), and they're not only fine, but have scrubbed the biofilm off the rocks as neatly as I could have done in two hours with a brush!
A couple of months ago I went to Lincoln and had the opportunity to look round the Cathedral. A beautiful building. kept wonderfully immaculate. Its not often we see the maintenance side of these old heritage buildings and it struck me what a mammoth task a bit of simple cleaning could be.
wanted to clean up the pic to make the cliffs more visible. Was really bummed there was so much fog.
I was sitting on a fallen log, trying to get a picture of a chipmunk, when I started hearing this strange noise - turned out it was the Flicker "cleaning house" - I was hearing all the debris from it's efforts falling to the ground
accidents happen. I'm really don't remember how this one happened. I could blame the red wine, but I'm not really into scapegoating. Sometimes, cleaning just makes one tired and it's nice to enjoy the fruit of one's labour.
I cleaned my D200 sensor today and took this test shot. Turns out the sky is really beautiful here today. Sunset tonight should be gorgeous...
Spring has officially “sprung” today here in New Zealand, and while climate change is making it increasingly difficult to determine what season we’re experiencing - and here in Wellington there are often all four and even a few others in one day - spring is traditionally a time for cleaning.
After winter, when junk generally accumulates in the house, a “spring clean” is a good idea, and although late to the party last year, this year I’ve started mine today!
It’s certainly liberating to sell or chuck stuff that has no use anymore and is taking up valuable cupboard and wardrobe real estate, especially considering the tiny size of my flat.
And so it can be with our consciousness.
Imperceptibly, mental junk accumulates over time and weighs us down, particularly in terms of our nonmaterial aspirations.
My personal process for spring cleaning the consciousness, which actually works a treat in all seasons, is mantra meditation, specifically the Maha-mantra:
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
This special sonic therapy, which connects our consciousness to Krishna, the Supreme Consciousness, acts like a powerful cleaning agent, providing an organic spring clean for the higher self.
The results of non material savvy, sustainable happiness and good old peace of mind, such rare commodities today, speak for themselves.

Not bad flowers, for a potato! But what is really exciting is the total lack of Potato Beetles - the bane of anyone who grows potatoes. We rotated all potatoes to outlying gardens this year, to break the cycle of beetle invasions in the main garden - and it is working beautifully!
I would put up a shot of a beetle-infested plant just for interest, but it is too ugly a sight. The larvae that eat the leaves are orange and slimy, and rather than use chemicals, we were removing them by hand. This is so much better; we should have done it years ago.
Three 13x18 Heidelbergs with two 10x15s against the far wall. The first one has a Lutz type of foil draw, the next two can still do letterpress. A sparkling clean shop always greets the morning work force.

This figure includes an ironing board, a kettle, colander, flippers, fishing rod and pie dishes. We saw this at the Picton campsite.
After a downed wire stopped Red Line trains between Forest Glen and Silver Spring, massive delays ensued. I snapped this picture from the north end of the platform at Silver Spring about 5 minutes before Metro started single-tracking on the Glenmont track (right side of photo).
