A Pied avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta) was captured during a clean take off with elegant style. The charm of composition is the neat and clean posture of the bird and the delightful backdrop bokeh. Pics was taken from Teesta River in Siliguri, West Bengal, India.
Another from those great ragged rocks up at Bamburgh. The photo I posted the other day of Bamburgh Castle was taken from the same point as this photo. The Castle photo received an incredible amount of likes which I’m grateful. I know this photo will receive only half as many but personally I have more empathy for this photo and virtually none for the castle photo. The castle is an icon photo, taken and liked by many. I took the photo for its commercial properties, it keeps me in printing consumables. But this photo is for me, my art, my type of photograph, so as long as I like it the jobs a good’un.
This pair of Magpie were hoping to make the sheep move to get to the soft ground for worms etc.

This particular stream in Tower Grove Park does not always have water, but when it does it's a real magnet for migrants. I think there was a lineup of kinglets in the surrounding trees waiting to come down and bathe-- no sooner would one leave than another would come and take its place.
Time to relax is later. Now is the time for doing away with all (well, most) of the fallen limbs and branches that Winter hides.
btw: it's dark because it is pre-dawn. That's the only time there is no wind blowing, and safer for fire... :)
Little Praying Mantis seems to be cleaning one of its antennae. I sure wish I'd seen how it maneuvered the antenna all the way into its "mouth".

This mature Bald Eagle takes a bath in the cold waters at Potter Marsh. It had a routine and performed it many times starting by dunking itself into the water and then shaking it's feathers in different ways. It was fun to watch!
Taken 16 May 2022 at Potter Marsh, Anchorage, Alaska.
Fresh snow combined with a code blue sky makes for a nice setting as 4211 leads LTV's recently washed "geep" set west through Cramer with 96 empties. This train was the 0300 job running a tad tardy, possibly due to dumping delays at Taconite Harbor. Three GP20s and two GP38-3s trail 4211.
Across the window where I work I noticed a lady cleaning the break room. When I leave home I always have a camera with me in my cargo pants. This time I had the vintage Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f/2 lens, and used it to take 4 properly timed consecutive shots of the cleaning lady.
I processed balanced HDR photos separately from 4 RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

I took this a few months ago as we headed off on a short road trip. The day was crystal clear around town when we left, but as we got into the plentiful pine forests that surround Mount Gambier, the atmosphere changed rapidly. This is just pine tree pollen! We do get our annual dose of it around town depending on the wind direction and it gets in everywhere. Our car inside a garage still gets a thin yellow layer overnight. The hay fever tablets get plenty of use too! Thankfully, the air cleared as soon as we left the forest area and we breathed easy once more.
The Big Ben clock face cleaned by abseilers. The hands were frozen at 12 o'clock, while four cleaners abseil down the front of the clock face. The tower was renamed Elizabeth Tower after the Queen to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee. Big Ben is actually only the bell but many know the landmark by this name.

it's a window, it's not that crazy in and of itself but from a slightly more abstract point of view it may just be....
