The storks are fledglings, mum just comes to clean up.
King Parrot (wiki)
Australian parrot. This is a male one and in my yard. There was a female one very close to him, too.
In the long and broken night sticky with the bad dreams
You see the faces of the past slowly floating downstream
Like thieves coming in the dark to steal away your halo
And all the briars and the thorns scratching at your window
You say a clean horizon is all that you need
With nothing heavy in your hands, nothing dragging at your feet.
Sometimes you count the cost of everything you’ve been through
And all the wreckage of those lives strewn all around you
And now you have to be careful where you tread
Trying not to remember what you can’t forget
I’ve seen you tearing at yourself to shed your skin
And how you cannot stop once you begin
It clings to you again and again
But for that clean horizon you’d do anything
Ah, that clean horizon is always the dream
With nothing heavy in your heart or dragging at your feet

Nicht selten ist in der Bildbearbeitung nochmals Hand anzulegen. Manchmal hat man jedoch Glück :-)
Sometimes it takes more image editing. Sometimes less.
Yet I always uploaded my pictures directly from SL - using firestorm. Recently I was not happy with the result and started to tinker with some filters outside and upload it afterwards.
This here is an old picture with some modifications (contrast, colors, ...)
What do you think? Is it worth it, or are "original" pictures the better choice?
For comparison: Original one
The praying mantis cleaned her antennae while taking pictures.

The (almost) clean paw of Linus. He loves to dig in the dirt and as he doesn't do things by halves he uses all four paws. Sometimes you don't even recognize the original colour if his fur anymore but unlike Fynn Linus spends a lot of time grooming himself and usually doesn't need my help to get clean again.
What I wouldn't give to have our old mix matched bag of shit power back after too many years of orange. However when they were fresh and clean still they were well worth the chase especially on a day like this. MQT 3389, 3391 and on loan ISRR 3388, a beast of a loco at that, lead one of our tonnage trains south out of white cloud on a rare snow covered code blue day. It may not look like a large train but these trains will put a trio, later on quad and some times a quintet of 40's down to their knees on the hills going south from Baldwin to Grand Rapids. The tonnage graph for DC EMD's says 1 Horse Power per ton but we try to keep the trains at about 1.2 or higher to make sure we don't have to double unless the power goes belly up.
Was listening to some Depeche Mode...Violator era and the words were grabbing hold tonight:
Now that I'm clean, you know what I mean
I've broken my fall, put an end to it all
I've changed my routine now I'm clean
Laid on the beach, letting the water wash over me and feel clean. A recharging feeling.
The onomatopoetic Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) derives its name from its telltale call of "chick-a-dee-dee-dee!" Interestingly, the more "dees" there are at the end of a call, the more agitated the bird.
Here, this cavity-nesting chickadee is exploring the possibilities of a possible home for her babies. These industrious birds will either excavate their own nests (as seen here) or use abandoned woodpecker holes. But spring brought many possibilities, and this particular spot was eventually abandoned for more suitable accommodations.
At this time of the year, the non-migratory chickadees are preparing. After all, winter is coming. They are storing away seeds in caches from which they will feed when snow blankets forest life for a long sleep.
Happy Sliders Sunday :))
Happy Selfie Macro Sunday as well :)
When Mrs. Krach tells me to clean the carpet ... I make sure I get all the details cleaning it!
Getting a rinse in the wash rack at Marion, Ohio is E8 826, possibly nearing her last wash ever. This right near the end of Erie Lackawanna operations prior to Conrail forming the following week - March 28, 1976.
I saw this duck on a pond during my walk on Saturday morning. It was the only white duck there but lived in a group of mallards who seemed to accept her. I guess it's a domestic duck, however it ended up on the pond.
Strong tonal contrasts, lines and shadows caught my eye here.
Leicester is quite an attractive station in its way - the exterior is pretty stunning and the platforms are quite nice and clean with good lines. It's a little mainline station if that makes sense. I used to work in Leicester so this is a very familiar scene.
