It's wonderful that my granddaughter enjoys playing the violin she has

Hokkano is a magical winter mountain venue which includes the Kamakura temple down in the valley near the Torii and the Ukimido lake pavilion on the frozen lake.
Winter foliage and sculptures by Mitsuko Kytori of Hayabusa Design enhance the magical atmosphere of the mountains.
Activities in Hokkano include a ski run, a balloon ride and a visit to the Aurora Project by Lorin Tone and Elicio Ember.

The bronze bust of Sir John Barbirolli (1899-1970), one of the great classical conductors and cellists, Outside Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, in the appropriately named Barbirolli Square. Artist: Byron Howard. The bust is three times larger than life-size.
He was particularly associated with the Hallé Orchestra but performed with many others. Barbirolli was also associated with the music of British composers such as Elgar, Delius and Vaughn Williams in the concert hall and on record. However, his repertoire includes Mahler, Schubert, Beethoven, Sibelius, Verdi and Puccini.
Look closely, and there are a few raindrops on his forehead...

Apologies folks been laid low with a mother and father of a cold which is still hanging around after two and a half weeks and wrecked a break in Hamburg, so not been on Flickr catching up with friends photos - but will be soon. Just need to shake off the man-flu !!
Thanks to Emma for this location which is a new station been built in Hafen City on the Elbe in Hamburg, the lights provide a light show at weekends set to classical music and is quite something. Recorded one performance on my iPhone to get the full atmosphere.
