Another Class 50 I missed for travelling on was 50011 Centurion, the first to be withdrawn in February 1987. 31 years later, 50049 Defiance proivded an example of what might have been. Centurion carried this livery during its last two years in service.

Purchased on withdrawal from BR in 1983, the unit remained on the WSR until 1997 when purchased by the East Lancs Railway and given a full restoration which was completed in 2017. The Butlins holiday camp can be seen in the distance.
