The Castillo de San Felipe de Lara (often referred to simply as the Castillo de San Felipe) is a Spanish colonial fort at the entrance to Lake Izabal in eastern Guatemala. Lake Izabal is connected with the Caribbean Sea via the Dulce River and El Golfete lake. The fort was strategically situated at the narrowest point on the river.
The Castillo de San Felipe was used by the Spanish for several centuries, during which time it was destroyed and looted several times by pirates.
The fort is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List and is a popular regional tourist destination.
The Santa Catalina Arch is one of the distinguishable landmarks in Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala, located on 5th Avenue North. Built in the 17th century, it originally connected the Santa Catalina convent to a school, allowing the cloistered nuns to pass from one building to the other without going out on the street. A clock on top was added in the era of the Central American Federation, in the 1830s.

D´ni
Several decades after the diaspora of the D'ni survivors of the Fall, Atrus and Catherine searched through D'ni Ages for survivors, and, along with the survivors they found, founded a new D'ni civilization in Releeshahn.
Stingless bees (SB), sometimes called stingless honey bees or simply meliponines, are a large group of bees (from about 462 to 552 described species), comprising the tribe Meliponin (or subtribe Meliponina according to other authors).
They belong in the family Apidae (subfamily Apinae), and are closely related to common honey bees (HB, tribe Apini), orchid bees (tribe Euglossini), and bumblebees (tribe Bombini). These four bee tribes belong to the corbiculate bees monophyletic group. Meliponines have stingers, but they are highly reduced and cannot be used for defense, though these bees exhibit other defensive behaviors and mechanisms.
Meliponines are not the only type of bee incapable of stinging: all male bees and many female bees of several other families, such as Andrenidae and Megachilidae (tribe Dioxyini), also cannot sting.
The main honey producing bees of this group generally belong to the genera Scaptotrigona, Tetragonisca, Melipona and Austroplebeia, although there are other genera containing species that produce some usable honey. They are farmed in meliponiculture in the same way that European honey bees (genus Apis) are cultivated in apiculture.
The majority of native eusocial bees of Central and South America are SB, although only a few of them produce honey on a scale such that they are farmed by humans. The Neotropics, with approximately 426 species, boast the highest abundance and species richness, ranging from Cuba and Mexico in the north to Argentina in the south.

Spaceman Spiff and the Great Time Fraud
Imagine you were a space traveller like Spaceman Spiff, and you finally found an alien civilization that has mastered time travel. These aliens can effortlessly travel to and fro in time without experiencing weird side effects, time paradoxes, or imposing dangerous changes to various timelines. And on top of that they are not only welcoming, but happily offer you to replace your old, (t)rusty spaceship (a bit battered from your space adventures, and you are also running out of spare parts) with one of their time-travelling ships. Would you say "No!" to this offer? Not if you are Spaceman Spiff whose alter ego Calvin deems himself to be the actual genius inventor of time travel ("Who are these aliens anyway, right, Hobbes? Hobbes?! Stop that eye-rolling! Hobbes?!?"). Spiff didn't even mind the fact that said time-travelling ship wasn't of the latest generation (let alone the previous generation or the generation before...). And so it happened that after a few lightyears away from planet time travel, on their way to new adventures through time and space, Hobbes (Calvin aka Spiff was too much occupied with bathing in the glory of having wangled this gem of a ship off these slightly dumb aliens) all of a sudden noticed that something was wrong with the mission timer. Its time didn't match the time his trusty (and thanks to multi-band 6 always accurate) G-Shock GW-M5610U-1 displayed. Could it be possible that the time-travelling ship's mission timer gained time? Oh dear, he should tell Calvi...Spiff! They had to find a way to replace the faulty mission-timer or they'd never make it back to their own timeline!
Well. Did Spiff and his long-suffering "No 1" Hobbes find a way back to the year 1997 to find a brand new Swatch Scuba Irony 200 "Hydrospace"? I'm afraid I don't know but actually, I'm quite confident because my very own Scuba Hydrospace (the only Swatch I have kept) that I have recently woken up from a long slumber with a new battery does not only still work after all these years, but it's still pretty accurate as well. Transferred to Spaceman Spiff's unfortunate situation this probably means that he and his loyal companion Hobbes will eventually travel back to their own timeline and maybe even back to the exact day they left Earth – provided Spiff aka Calvin lets Hobbes steer the course for once ;)
So I hope there is enough glass (the Scuba's domed crystal) in the image to suit the theme. The final image is made from 15 focus-stacking images combined in Helicon Focus.

HMM, Everyone, and have a great week ahead!
Hello there.
I was gone long enough. Again.
I lived and illegally worked in Israel for 1,5 year. Then my gf and I travel again, and now for last 5 months we living at home in Ukraine. Is here still someone who would be interested in watching photos on this page?

These universities have chosen D.E.I. Marxism (oppressed vs. oppressor) over merit. Equality can only end with the lowest standard. It is a race to the bottom. When a culture embraces decadence, you know that it will soon fall. Western civilization as we know it will fall. Those who embrace decadence embrace their own demise.

Eagle Summit, Alaska
Heres what it looks like 3,652 ft up on Eagle Summit of Alaska, super icy slippery cliffside road, long travel distance from any civilization ( 3 hours to the nearest gas station when driving carefully) and not a single soul in sight, all while under -38C/F weather and strong winds, so dangerous there was a couple who stranded and frozen to death in their car around here earlier this year, but the view was almost alien looking and almost like antarctica
Under the right conditions, after a bulldozer rearranges the beach sand, interesting patterns remain. This is about a 2 foot drop off.

Elves have, by far, the longest life-span among the mortal races; rumored to reach over a millennium.
Due to this; they see civilizations rise and fall, friends raise families, grow old and perish, and vast lush fields dwindle into arid deserts.
It's easy to forget these things, time is but a number to you. A year has no more sway than a drop of rain falling into a vast ocean.

This photo is taken from Astoria Park by the East River. The bridge on the front is Hell Gate Bridge and the rear one is Triborough Bridge. And the highly illuminated cityscape on the background is, of course, Manhattan.
Awesome On Black
I had couple hours of free time this evening and the weather was so darn good. Zero cloud, nada! So, I grabbed my camera bag and a tripod and hopped on the subway train to Astoria. It was about 30 degree Fahrenheit outside with moderate wind. Not too bad. So, I wore what I usually wear for this kind of weather - sweater, double jacket, jeans and sneaker. Normally, that’d be just enough. Not today!
I forgot to think about the river. It’s usually much colder and windier when you’re by one. Let alone the fact that I was there for almost an hour. I had no gloves, no beanie, no scarf, no board pants (I hate long john). It was fine the first 5-10 minutes… then hell began. My face and hands turned solid within twenty minutes, and I didn’t feel a thing after that. Well, consider what I got out of the evening, it’s still worth it. But next time around, I’d definitely bundle the hell up before I go out doing photography work.
Moral of the story: Never underestimate the weather… EVER!!!

I was behind, but kept finding that wonderful light of evening. I need to sort out a better way to do things at the end of the day.
Maybe I could arrive at a campsite earlier, regroup my brain, and then head out into the countryside to photograph the golden hour.
But when I get to the site, I'm often tired and would make excuses to not look at things.
But maybe I wouldn't. It probably depends upon the day and the light and how far back I was from the rest of relative civilization.

The Paracas peninsula located 240 kilometers south of the City of Lima, is the most important coastal formation in Peru. An unspoiled natural paradise where the desert sands reveal treasures of ancient civilizations. The Paracas National Reserve is the first marine conservation center of the country and one of the most important in the world. Established in 1975, it covers a total area of 335,00 ha. from which 117,406 are on land and 217,594 are in the ocean. With beautiful beaches, ideal weather an impressive scenery it is a place that can be visited all year round.
The abundance of marine fauna - birds, fish and sea mammals - found in the Reserve attracts visitors and ecologist who are amazed by the profusion of sea life. Peculiar rocky formations and geological stratus have made the are the object of many studies of origin of the Planet.
In the ocean floor, on a straight line from the Paracas peninsula another wonder has been found, the Peruvian marine fault, formed millions of year ago when the coastal mountain range fell into the ocean.
This fault is now the merging point for two currents, "El Nino" - warm waters coming from the north-, and "Humbolt -cold waters coming from the south -which originates a unique climactic condition for proliferation of plankton and fitophankton, main food source of innumerable fish species resulting in the extraordinary chain of richness of marine life.
The sea of Paracas is considered the lungs of the Pacific ocean because of the pureness and oxygenation originated in its waters. Another peculiarity of the area are the strong wind called "Paracas" reaching speeds of up to 21 miles per hour. Added to tits natural beauty, Paracas is a very important archaeological and historical site, home to the advanced cultures that flourished in Peru 1,000B.C., know worldwide by the exquisite textiles with combination of many colors and stylized deign, and by the practice of brain surgery and cranial trepanation. The Paracas coast was also the place where libertador San Martin disembarked to initiate the liberation from Spain.

Cobá is a large ruined city of the Pre-Columbian Maya civilization, located in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is located about 90 km east of the Maya site of Chichen Itza, about 40 km west of the Caribbean Sea, and 44 km northwest of the site of Tulum, with which it is connected by a modern road.
Nohuch Mul pyramid at Coba.
Coba is estimated to have had some 50,000 inhabitants (and possibly significantly more) at its peak of civilization, and the built up area extends over some 80 km². The site was occupied by a sizable agricultural population by the 1st century. The bulk of Coba's major construction seems to have been made in the middle and late Classic period, about 500 to 900, with most of the dated hieroglypic inscriptions from the 7th century. However Coba remained an important site in the Post-Classic era and new temples were built and old ones kept in repair until at least the 14th century, possibly as late as the arrival of the Spanish.

Tbilisi is the capital and largest city of Georgia, situated in the eastern part of the country along the banks of the Kura River. The city has a rich history that spans over 1,500 years and has been influenced by various cultures and civilizations throughout the centuries. Tbilisi was founded in the 5th century by the Georgian King Vakhtang I Gorgasali. According to legend, the king discovered the warm sulfur springs during a hunting expedition and decided to build a city at that location. Over the centuries, Tbilisi has been influenced by different empires, including the Persians, Arabs, Mongols, Ottomans, and Russians, leading to a rich and diverse cultural mix. The old town center is a maze of narrow streets with traditional houses, balconies, and churches, and it also houses the famous sulfur baths. From the entrance portal of the church you can see the old city walls and the Semeba Cathedral. The Sameba Cathedral, also known as the Holy Trinity Cathedral, is the largest church in Georgia and one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. Situated on Elijah Hill, the cathedral dominates the landscape of Tbilisi. Construction began in 1995 and was completed in 2004, as a symbol of Georgian religious revival after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The cathedral, with its golden dome, incorporates both traditional and modern elements in its architecture, and serves as the spiritual center of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
From the window of the entrance portal of the Metekhi Church, you are treated to a breathtaking view that includes both the ancient city walls of Tbilisi and the grand Sameba Cathedral. The historic city walls, winding along the hills, stand as a reminder of the city’s rich past, having defended Tbilisi through centuries of invasions and rebuilding. These ancient fortifications offer a glimpse into the resilient spirit of the old city. In the distance, the towering Sameba Cathedral, also known as the Holy Trinity Cathedral, rises above the modern parts of the city. One of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, it dominates the skyline with its golden dome, symbolizing the religious and cultural revival of Georgia after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
