St Patrick’s Cathedral located at 5th Ave in Manhattan is one of the famous architectural landmarks of New York City. The Cathedral is a stunning example of Neo-Gothic Church architecture and was built in 1958 taking twenty yeas for completion in 1978. The Cathedral is located on 5th Ave between 50th and 51st St right next to the Rockefeller Centre and is currently undergoing renovation.
This is one of those amazing architecture structures which stayed with me and I finally got a chance to photography the beautifully striking innards of the cathedral couple of weeks ago. As one would expect the inside was pretty dark and with the security not allowing tripods, this was one tough shot to make.
I ended up hand holding the camera and cranking up the D7000 to 2500 ISO to get the three HDR shots. The fact that there was a wedding going on at the cathedral didn’t make the matters any easier as most f the locations were out of reach for visitors. If you look hard enough you can see the bride and groom at the bottom middle part of the shot and gives you an idea of the size of the church. I also thought the 2500 ISO on my D7000 cleans up so good as the shot came so much better than I thought and I barely had to sacrifice any details. One thing I learned though was that the results look a lot better if you process the RAW files for noise and lens correction before you combine them for HDR.
I am loving the results and hope everyone likes it…

Ayia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa -
This church, which dates from around 1500, is built on the ruins of a much larger late Roman basilica. It's unusual in that it seems to be shared between the Orthodox, Anglican and Latin churches. Perhaps that is because the site is considered especially holy, since the Roman basilica is itself built over or next to a place (presumably the local synagogue) said to have been visited by St Paul (Acts 13:6-12).

The new triptych in Norwich cathedral was designed by the abstract expressionist painter John McLean. The three large windows on the north nave according to the cathedral’s literature,
‘form a single work of art, conceived as a a vibrant journey from the solemn dignity of the Nave into the architectural excitement of the North transept’.
Here is a closer look at the church of Notre Dame, which is one of the very few Gothic style churches in Creuse, most are Romanesque.
Begun during the 12thC, the nave and transept were completed in the 13thC, and the lateral chapels are from the 14thC. The massively buttressed tower is later, begun towards the end of the 16thC.

Designed by R.A. Bryden and completed in 1877, this striking Normandy Gothic kirk was built to replace the original Free Church on the same site. Its scale reflects the 19th-century popularity of Dunoon as a seaside escape for Glaswegian families. Set dramatically on a sloping site, the church’s tall tower and spire dominate the town skyline.
Inside, the layout evokes a concert hall, with a horseshoe-shaped gallery for the congregation and a raked choir gallery behind the central pulpit. Notable stained glass includes work by Stephen Adam and Gordon Webster.

Oxhey Chapel was built on an early monastic site in 1612 by Sir James Altham as the chapel to his new home, Oxhey Place. It is now surrounded by 1940s housing, between the brand new parish church and its vicarage. The little flint and brick building comes as a delicious surprise.
The Cathedral of St Peter was originally built by the Normans with its foundation in 1133, but it took many more years to complete. Following the appointment of Walter Bronescombe as bishop in 1258, the building was already recognized as outmoded, and it was rebuilt in the Decorated Gothic style, following the example of nearby Salisbury. However, much of the original Norman building was kept, including the two massive square towers and part of the walls. Unlike many other English cathedrals, there is no centre tower. It was constructed entirely of local stone, including from the quarries at Beer in Devon, plus Purbeck Marble. The new cathedral was complete by about 1400, apart from the addition of the chapter house and chantry chapels.

Agios Neophytos Monastery -
A monastery founded by St Neophytos (1134–1214) after various alarums and adventures including a trip to the Holy Land and a spell in jail, originally as a hermit's cave. Unfortunately for him, perhaps, Neophytos soon acquired determined followers and his life of seclusion did not last for long.

Tatev Monastery, located in Armenia’s Syunik Province, is said to have received its name from a legend tied to its construction.
According to the story, when the master architect finished the main church and attempted to place the final stone on the dome, he lost his balance and began to fall. In his final moments, he cried out, “Ta tev, Surb Astvats!” - Armenian for “Let me fly, Holy God!” - a plea that was interpreted as both miraculous and symbolic. The phrase “ta tev” literally means “give wings” in Armenian, and the name “Tatev” became associated with the monastery, reflecting both its dramatic clifftop setting and its role as a spiritual and intellectual center in medieval Armenia.
