Coming up on 7 years of pain at only 19 years old... after 6 doctors, multiple tests, surgery, casting, everything... I'm still in pain.
This shows where exactly have pain. The yellow is just the entire area that experiences pain, the orange is more severe within that area, and the red is generally where the most severe pain occurs.
I'm still grappling with this chronic pain condition in my legs and back that is severely limiting the amount of time I can spend on the computer. Today I start a course of amitriptyline. It worked for me in the past, so I'm hopeful.
Funny thing about Plexus Slim it was not even intended for weight loss when it was originally formulated. It was meant for Type 2 Diabetics. The study showed that even though weight loss varied among participants, ALL had achieved weight loss. The company wants to get the FDA approval needed to really market it to Diabetics so as they are waiting on this grueling painstaking process, they formulated a tastier version for those who would like that awesome side effect of weight & inch loss. Consequently, Plexus found that it still is balancing blood sugar. People have reduced or eliminated their insulin dependency! Other people have reported sleeping better, stress relief, clarity of thought, sustained energy, lowering their cholesterol & lipid levels.
Our bodies have an amazing ability to balance when given the right tools. If we can get our blood sugar balanced, weight can come of naturally. Having a balanced blood sugar means our organs are working together in harmony. So often one or more of our poor little organs suffer from having to compensate for the other. Sometimes it just takes getting one or two organs operating efficiently and boom, the rest are able to follow. Our brain is also involved in this compensation wheel of doom. We have important signals blocked when our bodies are out of whack. If you have an imbalanced blood sugar, you can bet that the hormones necessary to tell you to stop eating are compromised. So Plexus Slim jumps in there to wave the peace flag between your mouth and the food.
So, pick the products that you believe are right for you. We know our bodies better than anyone else so we NEED to be our own advocate. Read through the descriptions of the four products & then make an educated decision. Of course, that Little Pink Drink is the base of the products and the others are icing on the cake (so to speak). J Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Pain; screaming, throbbing, jabbing, aching, piercing. Attention seeking agony. Blinding. Never goes away, never shuts up. Always there, like someone screaming in your ear. Constantly, all day long. An intruder. You fight it, a constant war. A battle for your sanity. A daily fight to function. Must concentrate; pain here, pain there. Can't focus; pain, pain everywhere. Impossible. Drowning. Everything's so far away, watching the world through a mist. Isolation. A vortex of misery, threatens to obliterate all traces of happiness. No, I won't let it win. Pill after pill after pill. A little relief. Focus on something else; ipod listening, flick my fingers, twirl my hair, bite my lip, click my pen, count to 10 again and again and again. All while trying to hide that I'm in pain. Distraction. Imagine a far away island; feel the sand between my toes, water dancing around my legs. Feel anything but the pain. It will never take over, it will never win. I am stronger than that. I am stronger than pain.
You can't see it, but I can feel it.

To most, this will just be a photograph of a hand. Simple. But to me it means so much more. It represents all that is invisible to those looking in from the outside. The pain I am constantly fighting, like so many others with chronic pain problems.
If you are like me, and have had one or more of these diseases. I urge you to speak to a Doctor about Medical Marijuana. I make my own medical oils, tinctures, and salves, this herb is a true healer.
it's been about 2 years since i've posted a photo regarding my hernia, which i've named Hernando the Invisible Hernia. maybe i should recap:
in late 2002/early 2003 i had the worst cold of my life. a sneeze tore a hole in my muscle.
in 2007, i moved to halifax. luckily i found a doctor on my first phone call, and a pretty awesome one at that! she realized i had a hernia, and within 2 or 3 months, i had an appointment with the hernia clinic there. things moved fairly swiftly, as i was in a great deal of pain, and it was getting harder to function at a rapid (and terrifying) pace.
in early feb of 2008, i went for a hernia repair operation in windsor, nova scotia. they used stitches, instead of the already planned mesh. it was smaller than anticipated, given the staggering pain i was in.
about 3 weeks after the operation, i lifted a rather light kitbag, but twisted my torso to put it on. i felt a rrrrrip, and after that it was sore again, with that egg-like bump.
i moved back home just before the operation, so went to my previous doctor.
at my wits end, i made an appointment with the surgeon in windsor. she wasn't all that sure what was going on. there were a few possibilities, and sent a note for tests. i had a CT scan done at the QEH. it found absolutely nothing. everyone shrugged. i may have cried.
then i received a letter for an appointment from the prince county hospital. i very nearly cancelled it, thinking my surgeon sent it to the wrong hospital, and i already had the test done. thankfully, i went to it anyway. i didn't realize that this one was for an ultra sound. (which are pretty icky, i have to say. i don't like that goo)
the ultra sound found what seemed to be a tiny blob of fluid in my muscle where the hernia repair was done. hooray! i'm not crazy! there really IS something there!
with this knowledge in hand, i went to my doctor. he said it was so small, most surgeons would be reluctant to do anything. operating was pretty much out of the question, considering i just had an operation, it's incredibly hard on the body. the only other option would be to use a needle to drain the liquid, but it was so small, that would even be difficult. with my original surgeon's permission, he sent me to see a surgeon locally regardless.
the other day, i went to see that surgeon.
THE RESULTS:
chronic pain for life. there is little hope they can do anything. there are a few possibilities as to what is happening to cause the constant pain.
-first, he mentioned endometriosis. i'm on depo-provera (for near crippling PMS), so he said endometriosis was unlikely.
-another possibility is i had a previous injury in the same area. one i probably didn't even realize i had. then the hernia repair surgery sort of ignited this. or something. i was sort of overwhelmed at this point.
-the most likely scenario is: there's a nerve ending caught up in the scar tissue. if they operate to remove the scar tissue, there is a high possibility they'll just create more and i'll be even worse. OR they could go in above the area, find the nerve, and cauterize it. same possible outcome, though. they could create more scar tissue that might put me in much worse pain for the rest of my life.
he's sending me for one more ultra sound. he said if this one provides a visual, we'll talk operation, but he doesn't seem to have high hopes. the whole conversation seemed to be geared around preparing me for constant pain for the rest of my life.
dammit.

Concept photo with Color Enhanced blue skin with read spot indicating location of the pain. Isolation on a white background.
I know I missed the photo yesterday.
Apologies.
I fell, and landed on hard packed sand outside. I was reaching for my sister- but she was too far away. Right there, though. If my arms weren't so short...
The photo itself. It speaks. Read.
Hopefully, understand. Or sympathize. Don't think that going through something like this is easy- it's not.
It's quite draining. Difficult.
But the sun comes up each morning- and I hear the birds. And it makes me SO happy to hear them. To feel the warm sun upon my skin. Before I move, before pain- I have lucid moments I can just enjoy.
Live.
It's the only life you've got- make the most of it you can.

One of my pet peeves is when people don't clear the snow off their vehicles before driving. Now, I'm married to a disabled person. I have some issues of my own (which I will list in a few sentences)... so I get it if you're too disabled to clear off the top of your vehicle. But, most people are not. Most people just don't do it. Because they are assholes.
My husband is paralyzed on his right side. He walks with a limp, has no use of his right hand or arm, and he has balance issues on uneven ground (like, more so than a normal person). He drives a full-size Chevrolet Silverado four-door pickup truck. And he can clear off his entire truck before driving it.
Me? I have two replaced knees. My legs are about 80 to 90 percent of their full strength. I have arthritis in my wrists, my lower back, and various fingers that sometimes makes me lose grip on things I'm holding. I had both hands done in open carpal tunnel release surgeries. I have plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, arthritis, and multiple healed fractures in my feet. I wear customized orthodics! I have fibromyalgia (which is a chronic pain disease, in case you didn't know) that exacerbates all the other pain that I feel. From that, I have peripheral neuropathy in one foot and I have Raynaud's in my hands (hence my sheepskin gloves) and feet. And today, I've had a fibro flareup all goddamned day. I had to take a nap before I could take a shower today. But, since I also had to go to the store, I cleared off my own goddamn truck. (I drive a Chevy Colorado, four-door midsize pickup truck). I used that brush in my hand. Oh, you don't have a brush? You got a broom, right? Because that's what I used before I got this brush.
So... clear your damn car off when it snows.
on the way to acupuncture-dad driving as i'm not allowed to (and man i miss driving so much!) i was drying my wet hair and bangs/fringe in the vent, and took this-having no idea my t-shirt was reflected in my sunglasses
Today is payday for us and we have ALL THE STUFF TO DO. That includes shopping at a couple different stores (some stuff is cheaper at another store, etc). By the end of the second big shop of the day, I'm usually just tired. But today it was hot and approximately 2000% humid. No matter how much it rained, the humidity never broke. By the end of the second big shop today, I was done. Worn completely out. Every part of my body is in pain now and I hope that total exhaustion just lulls me to sleep quickly tonight. I took this photo while sitting on the bench by the grocery pick-up drive-up doors so I wouldn't have to walk all the way to through the parking lot.

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. It is in the process of being recognized formally as a type of yoga distinct from other types, such as Iyengar Yoga or Ashtanga yoga. Often the poses, or Asanas, are often adaptations of Hatha yoga poses.
Frequently the chair yoga student is unable to participate in a traditional yoga class due to the effects of aging or disabilities. However, Chair yoga is a great practise for everyone, as it deepens flexibility and strengthens personal body awareness. Chair yoga classes are sometimes made available at senior fitness centers, retirement facilities, and adult daycare centers.
Chair yoga is usually taught as a way to achieve physical and mental fitness, not as a way of life, as are most other yoga classes in the Western world.
Most people in chair yoga classes have health issues, and many are there because a health care professional that knows about their problems recommended it. A good chair yoga teacher will ask about, and be aware of any limitations the student might have. Chair yoga has helped people with the symptoms of many health issues including: hypertension (high blood pressure), anxiety, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, vertigo (medical), multiple sclerosis, Osteoporosis, Osteopenia, carpal tunnel syndrome, clinical depression, and chronic pain.
SpinaliS is a unique chair for healthy back and great posture
A unique movable seat on a spring ensures the mobility of the pelvis, strengthening abdominal and back muscles, keeping the spine in its correct position while preventing irreversible changes to the spine and so eliminating back pain. SpinaliS is the healthiest way to sit all-day long.
SpinaliS chairs loosen stiff neck
The moving seat âforcesâ you to straighten your back, have a correct head position and pull your shoulders back, reducing stress on the trapezoid muscles and loosening the stiff cervical spine. The constant movement of the seat eliminates any possible blockage, thus relaxing a stiff neck.
SpinaliS chairs straighten round backs
The movement of the seat straightens the back in the thoracic kyphosis area, restoring the physiological shape of the spine into its natural position (the natural curve of the spine in the shape of the letter âSâ). Eliminating a round back also lessens pressure to organs in the chest, especially the lungs and stomach, which leads to improved breathing and digestion.
SpinaliS chairs activate weak muscles of the back and abdomen
The movable seat allows for body movement in all directions, so you are not forced to sit still â SpinaliS chairs encourage the involvement of all torso muscles, which leads to the strengthening of the back and abdominal muscles.
SpinaliS chairs reinforce deep stabilizing muscles
The stabilization of deep spinal muscles is all about strengthening muscles that stabilize the spine during all movements that we make. Deep stabilization plays an important role in protecting our spine against various loads and stress. Taking care of your spine requires constant exercising of deep stabilizing muscles, which in the sitting position is possible only on a Swiss ball or on a healthy SpinaliS chair.
SpinaliS chairs remove pain in the lower back
The movable seat of SpinaliS chairs swings forward while you lean over your desk, thereby allowing the spine to bend forward resuming lumbar lordosis at all times. Lumbar lordosis is important for optimal placement of the lumbar vertebrae as they are wedge-shaped (higher in the front, lower in the back). With the correct hip position there is a substantial reduction of pressure on the vertebrae and intervertebral discs, which allows for effective pain relief. In addition, the movable seat also reduces stress in the lower beck, unlike in the case of chairs with fixed seats, which can make sitting quite painful.
